Adjusting the belts on the chipper

The tension of the blower belts in some of our transmitters is like on the chipper-15Hp 3ph motor.You loosen the mount bolts-then tension the blower belts by turning the front and back tension bolts the same number of times.With the straigntedge between the pulleys its spot on.Don't need to tension but maybe even once per year.When you can no longer tension the belts--you replace them.

hello, yeah I ended up going to my metal shop where I buy all my supplies and had them not out for the big pulley the hub so I got a stainless steel straight edge and able to do all four sides of each shev absolutely correct that's one expensive built. Demand a lot of attention but saves a lot of money for doing so. The other thing I forgot to mention is I get a thermal gun from harbor freight just to dabble with the temperature of the belt and you can tell when it's off the temperature will be high.

if you must roll the drum by hand its a good idea to roll it backwards so the sharp side is going away from you especially when changing the blades.

Well, maybe something cheaper? Once you get it aligned dead nuts on, get a pair of cheap dial indicators on magnetic bases, indicate the end of the adjuster bolt and turn each one the same distance going forward? I suppose you could count flats on the tightening nuts too.

Why can't you measure the adjustments on the front to insure that its even

It doesn't seem fair as we get older and smarter the body gets week and our eyes loose sight. What could we do if we were young again.
