I just bought a 2014 FJR ES, these vids are incredibly helpful, I can read the manual for hours and still not be sure but this is simply better and quicker. I will be doing my own maintenance as well, so glad I found this channel

The clarity and ease of instruction you put into your videos are really great.You could give pointers to who put the FJR manual together. I have learned a great deal. I just purchased a 2010 with very,very low miles and I'm enjoying it very much, your Parkway series convinced me to become an owner. Thank you.

I have found that when touring two-up with the paniers and top box full, setting the damping on hard made a big difference and the bike feel a lot more controllable at speed (60+ mph). At normal setting I found the suspension was under-damped and the rear springs would bounce up and down a few times before the bike settled down.

This makes sense to me, setting it soft seems the wrong thing to do but I guess it depends on the roads, he says there are no Twisties etc so handling is less important than comfort for the wife maybe. Here in the UK the roads are more challenging so having it too soft could be pretty disastrous.

If you moved that phone mount of the way we would be able to see how you were switching between the settings for the suspensions using the left handlebar right from the start.

I actually wanted to get normal model, ended up with ES :D But to be fair it is great to have the option to set it SOFT for high way riding, and once you are at the twisties to put it in HARD. At the end you will set it once, but it is nice to have option ;)

I love watching these types of videos and I dont even have this bike... I currently have a 50cc yamaha tzr... but thats due to the limitations/age restrictions of bikes in my country, though I am going to be picking up my 125 in the next few months. But hopefully when I am older (years and years away) I will be able to get myself one of these! :)

Help please. I just got some weird symptoms. when I keep speed , dont move throttle or set cruise controle( between 20 to 70mph) my bike get kicks. like missing cilinder or something. on iddle its ok around 1100-1200 rev. when I slow down by let it go its fine. when I speeding up its fine. only happen when I keep the same speed. So I don't know what that could be. Throttle Body Syn?? I have the same 2015. please give some agvice where to look. BTW your vids are great and many pleople find it sooo helpfull

Im close to getting a 2014 ES. I’m 280 (but slowly decreasing). So for just me would you say 1 plus luggage when luggage is empty, and 2 up no luggage when I have the side bags full? I’m thinking I will usually ride with the side bags on and the top box off but I’m not sure yet. My fiancé is not excited about motorcycles so it will usually be just me.

remember, pre-load only affects the initial setting of the suspension when you get on the bike. The modes actually affect the dampening and compression of the suspension

Thanks for your great video's. I just got my 2020 FJR and I can't figure out how when I am in the Menu mode how to "get out" of this mode so I can use the setting switch to then control the height of my windscreen?

Never mind,I figured it out.

Hi thanks for the great video, does the electronic suspension stop squatting on acceleration and diving under hard braking like BMW and Ducati system?

No

If the lowering kid is installed like 2 inches, which would be the best?

It doesn’t change anything as to preload and dampening

Hey, nice videos. I have been watching them quite a bit. I am really close to pulling the trigger on a new ES. Will the bags hold your XXL Shoe helmet? I haven't found the answer yet. Also, you share one of my other obsessions........ cigars.. I see those in the background :) - Anyway, great stuff. I think you have single handedly talked me into the FJ-ES
@TwoWheelObsession9 жыл бұрын
You bet they do even with the Sena attatched! Check out cigarobsession :)
@ScottBalkum9 жыл бұрын
Ok, so perhaps my head is super fat. My helmet will fit if I put it "just so" and then I have to force the bag closed. I have the Shoei Neotec in XXL. I don't know what I am going to do with my Sena when it arrives. The bag has that large plastic indention inside from where it is mounted that keeps the helmet from fitting well.
@TwoWheelObsession9 жыл бұрын
phalynx Right bag only, helmet facing forward. I use the same size, no issue it fits right in with the Sena on.

Oh interesting... I will give it a shot. I guess I assumed they were symmetrical. Silly me...

good info....closer to the ground by removing the luggage icon.... don't think it should affect lean angle haha

So I assume that 2-up with luggage on soft -3 will be much "spongier" than say 2-up with luggage on Hard +1
@TwoWheelObsession9 жыл бұрын
***** Correct. 1up, 1up+L, 2up & 2up+L are the preload settings. It just raises and lowers the rear. Soft Std and Hard are your working settings.
