Good video :) I've read somewhere that Wrightbus is going to unveil the two door (front and middle) New Routemaster with the Volvo B5LH Chassis. The designs of London Buses are becoming more stylish and eye-catching, all thanks to the New Routemaster project.

I rode this bus from Shoreditch to Peckham. It's so nice. On route 78, i was on the top deck going over tower bridge in this new bus.

The seat layout is very familiar to me as I live in the boundaries of arriva south east division and so in my aria we have; Plaxton Dennis Dart SLF's & also Plaxton President's But also we have a fleet of enviro busses as well so that's 200's & 400's Mainly. But anyway I really enjoyed this video. Thanks!

I like the idea of a 'Londonized' styling in both outside appearance & colour (thankfully regulated after the madness of the 80s) and interior fabric pattern and colours. The so-called air-chilled cooling system I hold reservations about until say the last week in May or perhaps first week in June when it'll probably be shown to be no better that what is on the NB4Ls/New Routemasters...although I'd be happy be provern unfounded in my thoughts. I read somewhere once that London has half of all the public buses in England ...if that is so then more reason for to have a bespoke design/appearance befitting of a world class city.

When I first saw this bus I thought to myself. JESUS, what is that thing, is it supposed to be the new routemaster. But when I watched this video I thought jeezus ADL, and then I saw the inside and thought wow, nice!

Different batches of bus have different engines. Some meet Euro 5 pollution regulations, others meet Euro 6 pollution regulations.

Beautiful equipment. I think it requires a fairly civilized populace for it to survive. Would probably not work in either New York or Chicago, sad to say. Too many people determined to see how creatively they can destroy public works.

+citytransportinfo Inside, it's completely different to the New Routemaster because it uses the same Enviro 400H MMC Interior. The exterior looks quite similar to the New Routemaster because of it's front style and windows on the stairs from the lower to the Upper deck

City Transport Info, i saw one of these buses on route 106, Witechapel to Finsbury Park, Arriva. And route 388, Blackfriars to Stratford city, CT Plus. Just thought i'd tell you.

Does this model use the same "air chiller" as the Boris Bus? I really don't understand TfL's obsession with that technology instead of just requiring all new buses to be fitted with regular/conventional air conditioning. it would be far preferable to the draughty (and freezing in winter) non-ac units and the sweatbox "chillers".

+LMLMD cooling is a a contentious topic. TfL say that full air-conditioning would increase energy use and make the Boris buses too heavy - so that their passenger capacity wlil need to be reduced. As for this bus I do not know. On the day I filmed it the weather was cold, so we needed heating - not cooling.

Could the weight restrictions be met by having buses with an additional axle at the rear, as in Singapore and HK? Fully a/c high capacity double deck vehicles are the norm there and don't seem to cause any issues. I don't see why Boris seem's to think London is some kind of special snowflake that necessitates a completely non-standard vehicle fleet. It costs us more for a vehicle that is less comfortable and adaptable :(

They are also on the 26, and although I've seen it said that there are more routes planned I do not recall the numbers. If you are anywhere near Blackpool in Lancashire then you'll find some there too. The Blackpool versions are on Route No.9 and have E-leather seats, wood-effect floors, Wi-Fi and USB charging points, ‘next stop’ visuals and audio announcements.

London route 26. Hackney Wick to Waterloo? I can get to Hackney in one bus. The D6. I thought route 26 had enviro200's. I didn't know they changed them.

They could be worse - and could be better. Even in hybrid format these are still diesel buses, but if there was a trolleybus version they would not emit any tailpipe pollution at all.
