Does buccall and sublingual administration pass first pass metabolism of the liver just like intranasal administration?

I'm guessing so because buprenorphine can be administered both ways so therefore it passes the blood brain Barrier

What if someone didn't know how long the epileptic's seizure time normally is and gave them midazolam at 3 minutes, then they wake up 30 sec to 1 min later? Does that make a difference?

That is why having a seizure management plan on hand or nearby at all times is so vital. What can save one person, can harm another.

No not usually. If the patient has been prescribed medaz does by their doctor. It maybe the medaz that actaully made them come to. NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL Just my experience

I guess youd use your common sense and weigh up the risk factors of ussing out of date meds compared with someone having a potentially life threatening seizure. Not sure Im right.......but my common sense would tell me to use the meds so long as its not REALLY out of date????

Just leave the person be and make sure all hazards are out of the way (to prevent injury to the person having the seizure). Contact EMS and follow their instructions. Do not attempt to administer Midazolam if it's out of date, the potency of the drug has been decreased past the expiry.

Nope thery are just saying it wrong its always been buccal because of the part oof the mouth that absorbes it. Its pronounced BUC CAL
