Tarkin was so not obssessed with it that it the very first opprtunity he was ready to back Thrawn's Tie Defender program, but Ezra destroyed it.. If Ezra would not have retaken Lothal the Death Star would not have been finished, and the empire would have probably won the war against the rebels

@@KhalilGray-lu5ng The Death Star was something planned long before the fruition of the Empire. We literally see that the Geonosians already created the plans for it as early as Attack of the Clones. It wasn't that Tarkin wasn't obsessed with it. He was tired of all these other project taking so much time and money rather than pouring resources into a singular total project. He originally wanted the Tie Defender Program to have all the funding instead, then it was destroyed leaving him with no choice but to put all remaining resources into the Death Star. All he wanted was an absolute show of force from some sort of Imperial device that would bring the Galaxy into total submission and crush any remaining dissidence through fear.

The venerator is a carrier first; it's interior is mostly hollow to hold all those starships. ISD is more dense and carries mostly troops, though the dock isn't small either, as it can carry quite a bit too.

Remember, Palpatine has always been five steps ahead of everyone else. This is a setback, but we learn in the Disney Vader comics that Exegol facilities have existed since the rebellion. I'm sure he had backup data hidden away. It would explain why Palpatine's return to a viable clone body was delayed until the Sequel trilogy. Had the Batch not succeeded, the Emperor could have returned immediately after Return of the Jedi with his Sith armada.

Seeing as this series takes place only a few years after the formation of the Galactic Empire, that Imperial-class Star Destroyer has to be one of - if not THE - first ISDs launched by the Imperial shipyards. Which makes it all the more poignant that it would be Governor Tarkin's personal flagship, and all the more poetic that it was destroyed over Mustafar in Star Wars Rebels.

More likely is that this is the Executrix; the first Imperator class Star Destroyer ever produced, and the personal flagship of Tarkin. Built in small numbers during the Clone Wars, the Imperator class Star Destroyers were converted into Imperial I Star Destroyers soon after the formation of the Empire. Its likely that this ship is the first Imperial Star Destroyer to complete its retrofitting. This would also explain why no ISDs show up in the Bad Batch until now

It was a surprise to see the first Star Destroyer (Sovereign) in service, and to think Governor Tarkin would get the first one to get one. This ship would go on to serve the Empire until Rebels when it’s destroyed over Mustafar by the Ghost Crew.

Rip to the lore of the Victory once more. They were supposed to be the largest star destroyer that can go in planets without another vehicle to pull them up and down. ISDs and Venators could go anywhere horizontal in planet but not vertical which is why they were built mostly in space. Unless you have tons of ships like the cloudcars in Episode 5.

Ok someone I know pointed this out to me and I thought it be worth mentioning. When Crosshair and Hunter shot Scorch, he didn’t drop his blaster when he fell and his visor didn’t deactivate. And at 0:29 if you look closely at the bottom right, you’ll see a single clone commando standing in front of some TK Troopers, and it looks a whole lot like Scorch so it seems that Scorch survived

It would have also been awesome if we go to see some stormtrooper armor (actual stormtrooper armor, not TK trooper armor) and TIE fighters. It would kind of help complete the transition from the Republic to the Empire. Never the less, I still loved this episode just as much. Amazing finale!

At the time the Republic did have star destroyers, but they were in such limited capacity and simplistic designs that they weren’t like the current model of imperial star destroyer that we see now. I take it that this is going to be one of the first of the imperial era’s famous star destroyer iterations because we do know that they will go through at least almost half a dozen before they settle in on the imperial Navy’s standard issue cruiser.

As cool as it was to see Tarkin make one last appearance and to also reference project stardust, I still wish there was more to build the connection from Bad batch to the mandalorian where the projects of cloning under the empire apparently continued. there must of been some of the research and technological inventions that was recovered. Heck, Dr. Pershing wears the same uniform as Emerie and the other scientists. Also Project necromancer continues as mentioned by Palleon and Hux's father. And we all know the Empire/Final order does successfully clone Palpatine because project necromancer was successful. yet here in the end nothing was recovered? Alternative it would of been really cool to see Thrawn introduced here and he takes over mount tantiss.

If you think about it, 1 imperial sd + 2 venators would make a terrifying combo. The raw firepower of the former with the hundreds of fighters and bombers of the latter to provide both escort and long range versatility.

Even though Project Necromancer on Tantis was destroyed, who's to say that's still ongoing ever after the facility was shut down? I hardly believe that the project was ever shelved. I bet that Palpatine, realizing that the Empire still has many holes in it's security at that time, would continue the work in secret. He probably had it moved somewhere where not even the highest ranking officers knew about. Plus, who knows how many M-count samples have already been delivered to him on a silver platter before the destruction of the facility? To him, it was of no great loss, as he still got what he needed to move his plans forward. Though it is a temporary set back by at least 50 years, he is a very patient Sith. In the end, Palpatine always gets what he wants.
