Today Adobe released a brand new version of Photoshop Elements and I'm here to walk you through the new features. You can watch my full video review in reels or on KZbin.
This year Adobe is making it easier than ever to access your photos wherever you are with their companion apps. The apps are still in the Beta testing phase, but web, iOs and Andriod apps will allow you to easily transfer photos to your Elements Organizer and create slideshows and collages and view a variety of photo projects.
Other new features include animating photos with moving elements, peek through overlays, new content for brushes, backgrounds, collages and slideshows, along with better access to 60+ Guided Edits through search.

Photoshop Elements would be great place to start. If you need to work with vector graphics, Illustrator may be better suited, but for nore I'd save your $$ with the one off purchase of Photoshop Elements.

So NO new editing changes or fixes, it's just all FLUFF, which I've never needed or used. I Just want to re frame, sharpen, lighten, remove blur, resize, downsize and remove items.

As a digital scrapbooker...I'm disappointed. I learned how to create these " new" effects a long time ago. I 'd be more interested in a way to organize the effects, action and styles within their panels under type or designer. * sigh* It just seems like the new output is more " bells and whistles".

I agree with you! Scrapbookers are a small portion of the market and many are quite photo editing savvy - like you! But Adobe is aiming these new features for the masses interested in recreating looks they see. You can get the upgrade price directly from Adobe, but I’d wait a few weeks as the new version is due out any day now!

So here's a question: Is the "Select Object" function shown within the "Replace Background" procedure roughly comparable in terms of AI performance to the "Select Subject" function in the "big" Photoshop introduced in version 2020, or is it more of a stripped-down version?

Photoshop Elements doesn’t have generative fill, but it does have content aware fill, crop and image resizing. But you can’t just generate a jaguar like on the PS CC ads!

Good question! They have not fixed the Windows scaling issues. I don’t think my monitor is 5k so I don’t know!

Does Elements 2023 still have ALL the 'Expert' features of Elements 14, along with the newer features? I love the photo-merge features, as well as the advanced- 'Expert' editing of my photos in Elements 14. Thank you for your help!

Will I be able to Downsize a 12x12 digital design to 8.5x11 (printable size) without losing any of the design and without any distortion in a downsized 12x12 digital design with Photoshop Elements 2023 edition? Thanks for your help

You can resize down to 8.5x8.5 to print without distortion as that's a square. You will then just need to trim off the top and bottom of your paper. You can't resize a 12x12 to 8.5x11 as it will be stretched in one direction. Let me know if you need more help with this.

I didn’t know you replied til now, thank you. In adobe ps elements 2018 you can use modify tool and take few more steps to downsize a 12x12 to 8.5x11 WITHOUT Distortion. Does 2023 photoshop elements have this tool, it’s in left tool bar then it opens more options in the bottom left area for the other steps. Hope 2023 has same. Can you tell me if it does

Re: the sky replacement feature, do you know if you are able to use your own photos of skies as replacements or only the ones that they provide?

No you can't use your own sky in the guided edit. However you can always just use the Guided edit then use the auto-generated mask to clip your custom sky photo into place. I hope this helps, if you need a tutorial, let me know and I'll add it to my list of upcoming videos!

@@Digitalscrapbookinghq It's not that important. I was just wondering if it worked like Luminar AI which does allow you to use your own photos but is otherwise rather a pain. If it did I would consider upgrading from Elements 21. Oh well, maybe next year... Thanks for the answer.

Open images Select images in the photobin Go to Guided> Photomerge> Photomerge Group Shot Place one image in the Source window and one in the Final window Select the Pencil Tool and follow the instructions and draw a border around the area in the Source window that you want to merge with the Final window. Click Done. I hope this helps. I'd suggest you try it in the trial version first to see how you like this method, its not as simple as in Photoshop CC

I completely agree they didn't change much about it except adding a few new features and the woman is trying to sell me on this product. I wouldn't waste money on this and it's not worth $100 I would weigh 600 if they would sell the real Photoshop again

This is not a knock off, it's a legitimate program from Adobe. It's a great option for those who don't want to pay monthly to use Adobe Photoshop (the Creative Cloud version). I find it has every feature I need in my photo editing software. Is there something specific you wan't to acheive? I may have a tutorial I can link you to.

@@kalliemoore5153 Hi Kallie - Photoshop Elements (previously Photoshop LE) has been around for 20 years. It is a genuine Adobe product aimed at consumers. What features do you want to use from Photoshop? I'm sure everything you could want would be in Photoshop Elements? Let me know and I'll point you towards a tutorial showing how to do . Otherwise, yes, you'll need to pay monthly for Photoshop via the Creative Cloud.

@@Digitalscrapbookinghq I have looked at this product and I have let you know how I felt about it the first hand before I know it's features and it does not have all the features and abilities Photoshop has and in case you didn't notice some of your comments that everyone hates it and the features don't work I don't want the monthly subscription that's what I was trying to tell you and all I was saying in the first place. They made it that way so they could squeeze more money out of people. Photoshop Elements does not have all of the features or abilities that Aid Photoshop has so therefore it is not the product I want but it's something they always say oh I'm sorry we have this instead it's not even a fair compromise this product seems like it's only meant to alter photos and not make your own photos. You can't change the picture to an oil painting you can't make it look like someone is doing magic and you can't draw on it either

@@kalliemoore5153 You can definitely change your image to a oil painting look with the effect panel. You can add magic looks with either the pattern brush quick edit or with brushes manually. You can add layers and draw on any photo. Just make sure you are in expert mode (click the Expert button at the top of the program). I hope this helps. Then you never have to pay monthly again!

You did not have to tell me something I already knew and already stated. stop trying to sell me on this product please. I thought we were done with this. This is a Photoshop product yes but it's not the one I want and it does not do the same things the other one does don't pretend it does
