@craigmail21308 жыл бұрын
whichone is better this one or sony vegas and what are the differences
@LAmotionPics8 жыл бұрын
definitely this. sony vegas is good for basic video editing, but not for visual / special effects. I have been using sony vegas for 6 Years and even today, however now I only use it for basic editing, and I have moved to after effects for special / visual effects, because the possibilities in after effects are just almost endless. You could do all sorts of effects while sony vegas its much more limited with the tools. with that said, after effects being a grand software that movie production companies often use, sony vegas is still good for basic video editing and its more easier to use compared to after effects.

They are probably professional VFX artists, in which case they aren't really interested because professionals don't use After Effects in real VFX work.
@AnimeZone2477 жыл бұрын
+carver yes they do especially for motion graphics, but if you're talking about a big vfx shot they will most likely use nuke or another node based compositor. And it also depends on what house and what their budget is. Because some companies use their own software

It's a real shame adobe's pricing strategy is so ridiculous. I would like to update, but I only use three apps for video, so buying the WHOLE CC suite is insane.
@Tom_Swiss9 жыл бұрын
stoph2 that's why 80% of the users have an illegal copy. which in return raises the prices even more in the future :(
@wispy98597 жыл бұрын
Tom D ae cracks for the win! too bad my crappy pc can only support cs4
@eschelar7 жыл бұрын
Tom, piracy doesn't increase Adobe's prices. Piracy brings them down. If there was no piracy, most people couldn't afford the software to get into the field. Perhaps a bit less true in affluent countries, but a *LOT* of professional graphic work is done outside of those countries. I became a paid user BECAUSE I learned the software and I got work later on using it. Of course CC doesn't stop piracy, it encourages it because it removed all the affordable packages. I was using Production Premium (purchased and legitimately upgraded when I went back for some continuing education in my early 30's) until CC came along and handed me a great big "fuckyou" courtesy of Adobe. Of course, I'm a highly competent computer user so I just said "OK, so you *don't* want my money, that's barely a speedbump". I didn't become a paid user because I didn't know how to pirate it anymore. I became a paid user because I wanted to give back to a company that was changing its long-standing policies to help out the little guy (Design Premium CS5.5 education version was just 325 CAD+ tax). Draconian policies like CC are the opposite direction, so I no longer have good will towards Adobe. CC is the worst thing for freelancers. It's pure idiocy. I went from a pirated software user to a paid user and helped a small handful of people also "go legit" during the era of intermediate suites. Since CC, I've shown some simple math and helped convince over 500 users to avoid CC like the plague. I've found that it's a lot easier to convince people to not pay exorbitant ransomware costs for renting software (and access to their own work) than it is to convince people to pay even reduced rates for expensive software. But the key issue is the fact that now I'm putting effort into showing people free alternatives like Hitfilm, DaVinci (which exist largely because of this same "fuckyou" attitude of Adobe towards creative professionals). That's the funny thing about time, as people grow in competence, they do more and have more influence. 10 years ago, I was just playing with my cameras and chatting on camera forums. Now, I am key decisionmaker for software for an international company with offices in 4 countries around the world and I consult with a few dozen smaller companies through Asia and Europe. Now *THAT* is going to affect their bottom line. But Adobe policy towards their customers is "fuckyou", so they can go fuck themselves. Make no mistake though. Adobe's revenue problems are coming from their own policies. Piracy is only part of the symptom. Now there are free alternatives like HitFilm, piracy is no longer their primary enemy. The biggest enemy to Adobe now is their own corporate greed.
