Adopting a DOG!

I love that you made sure to either adopt or get a dog from a rehoming situation. I also have an 8 year old Maltese that I adopted 3 years ago. I don't think it is necessary to limit his activity to 30 minutes a day, if he has the energy then he can use it. And make sure to neuter him soon! It's usually recommended to neuter him at around 6 months of age, it prevents testicular cancer and unwanted male dog behaviors. I also think it's good to have him out and about on leash more than in a carrier, just to make sure that he isn't too spoiled haha. I know he isn't much of an outdoors dog, but make sure he is on a monthly oral heartworm preventative (heartgard, sentinel, interceptor - to name a few) or the injectable heartworm preventative (proheart). Another thing is to make sure he is not on a grain-free dog food. Avoid dog food "fads" like raw diets and grain-free. People will rave about them but not many studies have been done on them. The FDA recently published a study showing that grain-free diets can cause dilated cardiomyopathy. You are doing a great job at being a dog mom! It made me miss my dog so much now. I literally have a small baby white as snow boy just like your puppy! I moved to another country and had to leave him with granparents but I believe he is happier now more than ever, honestly they treat him like one of their grandchildren or maybe better. Anyway congrats now your life changes and it brings loads of happiness, warmth and teaches unconditional love!

For tear staining! Glow Groom! Works a treat, it's expensive though. I get it online in Australia, it's a powder or tablet you mix with their food daily.

more dog vids! i recently rehomed a dog too but couldn't bring it to my home until a month later because of the place i was renting so had to give it to a friend to look after. the dog got really attached to that family in that month and i decided it was best to leave him there because he was really sad when i brought him home. went to their house to walk him as often as i could and personally i grew attached because i loved his personality. but it was the best for the dog to stay with the other family so now i just watch dog vids. so more dog vids pls! lol

I got a maltese dog too. I love him more than anything else. If i can suggest u something, let him socialize a lot and bring him to the groomer to be washed n brushed. Ps. Don’t forget to brush his theeth too ;)
