Chloe Skeggs the franchise where i got my gerbils sounds a lot better in my opinion! the cages in the store are small but have a lot of things to keep them stimulated until adopted, and the employee asked me and my younger sister a lot of questions about gerbils before we could buy them. they also don’t sell most harmful beddings and the food they sell has variety. i have a lot of praise for the company, at least the franchise near me. i can’t say anything for where they get the small animals though, all i know is that they are housed well in-store.

jon burger unfortunately pets at home isn’t a franchise and they are all run the same. They will happily sell you a rabbit hutch and tell you they live in cages but need a two hop rule. Which is wildly wrong and rabbits thrive in indoor spaces. They’ll also sell you two of the same sex and refuse to sell you mixed gender when rabbits get along best as a NEUTERED bun husband and bun wife. They are for profit and not for animals. I have nothing against them as a company as a whole. But in the uk we should not be allowed to sell animals in such a way and there animal sales and care should be of a higher standard. However saying all this. I really appreciate that pets at home are refusing to sell animals during the COVID-19 crisis to stop animals being abandoned once we go back to normal lives and people get rid of the animals they brought because they were bored.

Usually when i see videos like this they are ppl just buying a hamster with no research whatsoever, a tiny cage and no enrichment - so when i saw your cage i was so happy! one little thing i would add a bit more bedding when you can because hamsters are natural burrowers, but that’s the only thing!! great cage :)
