I've been raising a child with my girlfriend for the past 5 years, he is her grandson. He moved back to New York this past spring, to live with his mother. He had to leave his hamster, Bendy, with us. I had no idea how much fun, and how attached I could get to this little critter. I normally get up around 1AM to make sure she has what she needs, before I go back to sleep. I'm very sorry for the loss of your pet, your friend. I can only offer my condolences.

This looks wonderful! Miso is a cutie. I do warn though Hazel friends Hamster sand is a bit dangerous due to the dustiness. Children's play sand is actually cheaper and better, though calcium free reptile sand is even better, just not as cheap.

If you watch the video closely, you will see a reptile sand has been used later at 3:48. Thank you for caring about hamsters though. Owning hamsters for over 20 years does not make me immune to mistakes and I am more than happy to take good advices to continuously improve my care :)

Love this setup! Be careful of the gaps between the sticks of the bendy bridge wall as there have been many hammies who have gotten their paws stuck in between the sticks. Lots of people fill the gaps in with safe moss to prevent this xx

I would be cautious with Timothy hay only because it can be sharp, I use botanical & orchard grass, and they both smell very nice in there.

Timothy hay aids in maintaining a healthy digestive tract, promotes dental health and regulates weight. Lots of people use them for bedding and currently I have not seen any evidence on the negative side. However, please do let me know if you find any evidence or an occasion where a hamster is hurt by Timothy hay. Thank you for caring about hamsters though. Only one of hamsters escaped from the cage the door was fairly flimsy can be pushed from inside. Female Panda Syrian hamsters, She didn't go far and was found in the kitchen of all place. There's loads of hiding places in the living room. Luckily, she didn't run away and just sat there on the floor. I keep small lobster claw clasp on the door to prevent any escapades.

Awww, Miso is such a cutie! Cheeky little Hammie. Wanted to let you know though that Tiny Friends Farm Bathing Sand (I believe that's the sand you're using, correct me if I'm wrong!) is actually pretty bad for your Hamster's respiratory system :( It's got a lot of dust in it. I would recommend you try reptile sands! Just make sure they're not the Calcium kind. They tend to be a lot less dusty! EDIT: Noticed you use Pets at Home Desert Sand later in the video - This is the same sand I use! :) Seems you know what you're doing.

Hi, I know this is not kuma and it's advice from another channel, not sure if you've seen her or not, but Victoria rachel (who is an advocate of larger cages a bit like these ones) says a lot of people think you have to clean the cages once a week but it's not really true. Do it about once a month, otherwise they can get stressed when all the scent goes etc. she recommends spot cleaning instead If I remember correctly

Once a month, and only take out half of their bedding. Hamsters need to have their scent or else they get stressed. Victoria Raechel provides great information for hamsters.
