Adopting During a Formula Shortage: 4 Ideas So You're Prepared To Feed Your Baby!

Is your recommendation to have 2 cans of formula on hand for only hopeful adoptive parents that are already matched? We have been waiting for 2 years and not matched yet, but this has been on my mind lately with the shortage. Also, I am hesitant on buying formula since I don't know which formula our future baby will need or be given from the hospital.

Hi Cathy, Prior to this formula shortage the recommendation I gave to my course members was to actually not buy formula until after the baby is placed. But, given how difficult it is to get formula now I recommend having one to two cans on hand just in case there was a placement that happened near or after baby's birth.
