Integrating ferrets is one of the hardest things I've ever done. I feel like I should be protecting my precious girls from harm rather than watching the new-comers be so aggressive with them. If you have any suggestions for what to try next I would really appreciate it 🙏

You're doing so well! I hate integrating rescues. I've never done it with ferrets but other animals have to sort out their pecking order as well and it's tear inducing to have to let some of it play out. I think your approach (and your carpentry skills!!) are amazing. Hope you're doing OK.

Intergrating ferrets is definitely a challenge, one I'm still working on with mine. If i have a treat for them to share, they will. I give the ferrets raw eggs once a week or so. They focus on the treat but also will clean each others faces, so I know that for a few mins, they will be together without any issues. I'm not sure if this would help. 😅

It is lovely watching your ferrents being in a space where they can be themselves. It gave such pleasure to see them again and experience your interaction with them.Sorry if forgotten the names of you all am in my 80's and this is the first time I've commented on a Utube channel. Many years ago when Ferrets where used in hunting to chase rabbits out of holes,I found like you a wandering female. It was my first experience of ferrets and led me after a few weeks and advice from a vet to get male .Toby, a mini polar bear and Pole cat coloured Veritty lived for ten happy years with my family dying within a few weeks of each other. We were given endless fun watching their antics and having cuddles with them in the evenings. We lived in the country and they followed behind us with our dog for walks. Friend and Toby mated very loudly and with bites to Veritty's neck, which is I'm afraid the natural way of Ferrets and had four beautiful kits. About a week before they were born Toby began to eat much less and when they were born he waited for Verity to have her fill.He then went into the nest area and curled with the babies.I remember being anxious the first time I saw he wasn't in the main part of their enclosure. All grew into strong pups and we were able among our friends to find homes as pets for them.Ferrets then had not yet become popular pets. We didn't want more babies and as you've found out mating is essential for the female's health, so having Toby neutered wasn't an option .Our vet did her first V asectomy and as I said Toby and Verity lived happy ever after!

Introductions can be terrible and had some times when we had to go vets, but 60 percent of the time it goes ok but the rest of the time it just needs time and patients. I have succeeded every time but there were times when I pulled my hair out and it took 6 to 8 weeks for the integration. Tons of ferret oil rub it on the backs of their necks and when they go to attack they lick instead and over time they’re fine with each other. It’s an amazing trick that works every time x

When I brought my Bandit home, my three ferrets, Zoey, Kodiak and Bailey really beat him up. Bandit was much bigger and stronger, but he never did fight back. The girls would especially bite hard and aggressively go after him. I started to take one ferret at a time, and put them on my lap and let them sleep with Bandit with my hand right there between them. Kodiak and Bailey eventually accepted him. Zoey was still attacking him for a bit longer. I made sure to spend time with them both on leashes outdoors together, eating together and sleeping on my lap. It took months, but after a bit, they all loved one another. I found that if they knew mom was involved, then they seemed to stop being so aggressive. Best of luck. ❤

Hi Kate. I used the bedding swap with mine a few years ago. I have only gills, so male dominance was not a problem. Ba-Ba (black feet) is the boss, but she is not the oldest. I am a few months behind you with my outside enclosure, but I have a contractor in mind. Best wishes

Very concerned for the feret who's neck looked full of blood. If the others are biting it's neck a lot to prove the pecking order then he or she should be kept separate as this must be so painful and traumatising for her or he.😪

It's a dominance thing and the rescue centre has 2 exercise groups of around 90-100 ferrets in EACH group! It must have been hard to manage so many ferrets. I'm so glad I was able to rescue Zoro from this place as now he NEVER gets his neck bitten 🥰🐾🥰
