Because people genuinely don't care. I know a girl from high school who behaves very similar to her. She was bullied heavily and barely anyone wanted to hang out with her because she would begin to stalk you and harass you constantly for attention. One time she took pictures of someone else's baby, another teenage girl, and posted them on Tik Tok pretending the baby was hers. And then randomly posted that the baby died when she got caught. It's absolutely sick and disturbing but everyone saw it. Teachers, administrators, parents all saw it. But instead of getting her help they just made excuses for her. Really sad.

Because society doesn't care Emilia girl, that's the simple truth. Early intervention through home and school is the best outcome for disability and challenging children. Most cases its because the school is at fault and doesn't protect the child from bullying and they act out because they are frustrated and aggression is what they use to communicate. I see it all the time through my children's schools and unless your strong and voice your opinion, the children slip through the cracks.

The producer lady was so patient and gentle with her. The part that struck me was how much she had to mother her like you would with a young child. I have a 26 year old daughter that reminds me of this young lady. My daughter doesn’t scam anyone but she has special needs. She has a chromosomal deletion. It’s called DiGeorge Syndrome, or Velo-Cardio Facial Syndrome. There is a laundry list of symptoms and not all are present with every person with this disorder. The thing is...My child is on the Autism Spectrum but she is bright in some ways...very manipulative...yet...She just doesn’t behave like a person who is not affected by her disorder. Reality is skewed for these folks. They don’t feel entitled to act volatile they just act the way this girl is and think they are acting like they should. This is probably the saddest episode for me. Special needs adults don’t just have Down Syndrome. Some of them are darker than that. They take a village to raise and support through life. Literally, a village. My heart goes out to all of these people that were scammed but, I feel for this young woman and her Father. I hope she gets all the help she needs.

Who only knows what it's like to be her. I applaud the couple, because although they are hurt and angry they are also so understanding and compassionate. I think what she liked was playing the role of the pregnant woman. She was scamming the couples, but she was BEING the pregnant girls. And interacting with the couples about the “baby” was a high for her, because knowing she had convinced someone else of her fantasy made it a little more real in her head. Someone else out there actually believed she was carrying a child, so that made it a tiny bit easier for her to believe. Absolutely batshit insane, definitely. But I think that was her logic at the time.

I'm commenting from my sons account but it's really sad to me to see people without comprehensive knowledge of mental illness commenting on this when in reality the smiling and abnormal behavior is extremely typical of people with certain mental disorders or delays and is not indicative of lack of empathy but rather the person does feel empathy/remorse/guilt but smiling or other tics are displayed as a way of coping often times due to a social aspect that goes along with whatever disorder or delay they may be suffering with.

When I worked in sector, I always drew a line between mental illness, and bad behaviour. And undoubtedly she has some serious mental illness problems that for one reason or another aren't being addressed. BUT, the line has to be drawn at her appalling behaviour. She clearly derives pleasure from causing these people pain and was happy when she said, "They felt crushed," That clearly was her objective, and she was proud of having achieved it. That shows intent and knowledge of consequence, and the ability to articulate that intent into action explicitly to harm her victims the way she did. I suspect her walking off was because she'd done what she set out to achieve, making her victims feel sorry for her and asking for the charges to be dropped. Mission complete, she leaves without acknowledging or listening to her victims. I don't know what you do with someone like that, and I really feel sorry for the people she hurt, and her Father, he seems like a good guy. I just hope they find a solution, because she is a really cruel, vindictive and horribly malicious person, and I don't think it's safe for the community to have someone like that rocking around doing whatever she wants until such time as she commits a crime so heinous she is locked away.
