Duper's Delight isn't actually what she's displaying in those clips. Duper's Delight is seen when the person is lying; a subconscious reaction to being proud over their ability to trick (dupe) someone. In these clips she's not lying, she's admitting she lied and describing the lies she told in the past. What Dr. Phil is calling "Duper's Delight" in these clips, is just her embarrassment, coming out in the form of nervous smiling or laughing. Don't get me wrong, Duper's Delight is a real thing, it's just not what's going on with this woman, in those particular clips. Her smiling, and being on the verge of laughter, is simply incongruous emotion. Once you're told about these little things liars do when they're lying, you'll start to notice people doing it more and more. You start to feel like a human lie detector...it's kinda fun. 🤷🏼‍♀️ *This is my understanding of the Duper's Delight phenomenon; what I learned in school and further researched after the fact. By no means am I suggesting that I'm an expert in detecting lies, just to be clear. 👍

She does experience shame however fleeting it is. I am wondering about her life growing up as a kid through her teen years, quite possible she was ignored by a parent or both parents. Not saying this to excuse what she did, but what the possible reason was for her to start these lies. There must have been a lot of judgment from important people in her life or the pressure that is unconsciously put out by society.

I said something similar in my comments. This can be caused by a parent who expect Perfection from you or by an abusive or neglectful parent. Like if they're always drilling it into your head that you have to be perfect then it can cause this. Still wrong.

Firstly have it noted I don't agree with anything this woman did. And I'm glad to see the update stating that she's been sentenced. But Dr Phil said that when someone's lying there's 'leakage' and showing the videos of her interview as an example...she wasn't lying in the her video interview. She telling the truth about all the lies she's told...she's proud of the lies and that's why she's smiling. But she's not presenting any leakage or micro anything from lying because...in the tapes we whitnessed she was in fact telling the truth and confessing to everything she's done 'i lied, I told a big lie'. Dr. Phil I was actually trying to reach you after this episode was exposed at Greenville camp. This is where Sarah was serving her federal sentence. And although I to consider myself a victim to her lies I had to forgive her in order to move forward. It took a lot for me at the time I genuinely embraced Sarah when everyone else felt her story didn’t add up. Being that I was leading a Bible study and spiritually mentoring woman she was someone I thought had really found her spirituality. Well instead she moved on to the next person after I confronted her.And to think even in prison she continued with her lies. Again I had to forgive her in order to move forward and continue in my spiritual walk. Having been sentenced to 16 years I thought no way not me and yes she got me. Today I’m free looking back and now seeing this breaks my heart! No remorse whatsoever. God bless all those who have been affected my her acts.

the example he uses is not quite accurate. because at the time shes not actually telling a lie. shes talking about the lie she told. thats a huge difference in demeanor and expression. for example. you lie about taking the cookie from the jar. in the moment when youre asked, did you take the cookie? you reply with "no! of course not!" that is the lie. but if you later go back and say "i lied about saying i took the cookie. i really did" thats no longer a lie. so a microexpression there isnt relevant, its not the lie.

It’s about as accurate as a polygraph test which is about as accurate as a coin flip which is to say it’s not accurate at all. I lose respect for Dr Phil every time I see and hear stuff on his show. I want to like him but in reality he’s just as deceptive as this woman.

The video of her expressions is totally taken out of context. She obviously felt comfortable with the people questioning her. What else were they saying to her right before asking a question? She's grinning from ear to ear. Then DP puts her on the spot in front of everyone. Chances are, he's gaslighting her and she's too confused and uneducated to realize it, which makes her look even more guilty.

I’d understand if somebody was being physically beaten up and they went to the people who beat them up and started something bad with them that is understandable Because you can’t beat somebody up and expect them to not come after you i mean you pretty much asked for that to happen However if you got beat up by another person and then started going after people who didn’t do anything to you Then I’d never support someone who does that i can’t and will never understand how people can hurt other people just because they got beaten up I just don’t see how that is a sign of pain, or embarrassment because it means to me like the person obviously doesn’t feel embarrassed it is like the bully just gave them a little punch in the arm You know anyone that gets physically beat up and badly hurt with bruises on their body, they should know how that feels So to me i feel like saying” oh so you think it’s funny to be bullied”

I think this woman and what she did is despicable, but I have to wonder what exactly is Dr Phils show for? Because this seems to be less about therapy and more about being like a Steve Wilkos for yuppy house wives.

Doing this in this way, Dr Phil is lucky no one has goodbyed themselves on his show yet lol She’s a monster, but how come things are due to mental illness until it’s about lying? I’m picturing a person with schizophrenia getting looked at like a monster by the Mighty Moral Phil. 😂😂😂

Gosh, Dr Phil should get Bill Gates on his show. He has macro expressions and so much leakage he almost jumps out his seat.
