Thanks. I was wondering. I also wholly agree with you on researching pets before buying. My friend works at a pet store and a man came in with a turtle living in a full tank of water and no land or anything to rest on. It spent years of it's life swimming to the surface to breath, sinking to the bottom and swimming back up. When my friend explained why this was bad the owner insisted "he likes it".

For those wondering what species this is, it's a common myna. Also known as the Indian myna. Their native range is from Iran to Singapore. But they are invasive in places like Australia and Hawaii, where they are unfortunately major threats to their ecosystems. Their aggressiveness in the wild chase native birds in Australia such as galahs out of their nests. They also pose threats to crops such as blueberries

Yes, I’ve seen them here in Australia. They can actually be easily mistaken for a native species here in Eastern Australia similarly named the noisy miners. Both unrelated but similar looking.

I had to chase a family away from my house after mth of them sounding off their alarm and attacking a few different natives as well as my pets. They can be legally trapped and put down in my state but I didn't have the heart so instead I found their nest and hosed it and them down until they moved. Took about a mth but I'm determined.

My mom had one for many years in Italy..he would laugh like the maid, answer the phone when it rang, ask for lettuce and so many other things. Best little pal ever. Brought tears to my eyes as Baku and my mom are both gone. So beautiful. Minah birds are so intelligent....dont see too many of those around. God bless her and her family.
