As a vet, I know what I put my family through when I was gone. To know why I was gone and they bore that emotional stress, knowing there was always a chance I may not come home. Family is why we do what we do. Your family is why we do what we do. Too many people have forgotten this. Worse, they don’t care or take it as their right. Respect to all vets, my brothers and sisters in arms. We stand against the night and all the evil that lurks there. Respect to all the families that wait and support, living in hope to see us again. God bless you all.

To the military that isn't corrupt! There are some bad apples. Like General Millie. I get tears to. God is using the legal President Trump that he anointed for office. To take out the trash! God bless our country and God's politicians and every one that he's putting in the military and office. To replace the corrupt! With "HIMSELF"! In Jesus's name I pray and proclaim Amen and Amen!

My wife had bad Postpartum depression with our first child. Nothing would heal it for almost the first 6 months. I accepted the duel role and raised my son in almost a single father mode while my bride healed. Diapers, food, baths were all me. Then I was called to arms. We spent my sons 2nd birthday at a motel in FT Campbell. Then I deployed. After a year in Iraq and several months of demobilization at FT McCoy, I arrived home at the airport. My son took almost 2 weeks to stop screaming for his mother when I got near him. I will never forget how much it hurt watching him in fear of his father as a stranger.

My mother had this happen twice. The first time was when my older brother who was in the Army, came home from Korea and the second time was when I who was in the Marines came home from Vietnam. I think mothers have a special bond with their kids because they still remember when the doctor laid them on her chest after they were just born.

Sweet Jesus but I never get tired of watching these homecoming videos. They are a tonic for times like these. When you see an active duty troop returning from a deployment and reuniting with family, it’s strange how dust gets in your eyes. And what was the music heard on the video anyway?

It really depends on the person, or people, from what I've seen. My dad served six years as a U.S. Marine, and when his tour of duty was over, the only person who didn't know was one of his sisters, and that's only because they forgot to tell her.

Why do you feel compelled to ruin these videos by adding the horrible repetitive music? It's horrible. You might as well add the sounds of fingernails scratching down a chalkboard. THe images are dramatig enough - they dont need to be ruined by adding an hour or two of 2 measures of endlessly repeating cheapass "music".
