Buckley looks at the rise (and fall?) of Andrew Tate, the former kickboxer turned social media guru to young men who believe they are "under attack" by society. How do you become a free-thinker these days? Why, by parroting the beliefs of someone who claims to be a free-thinker, as loudly and as often as possible!

It also shows how utterly they fail to grasp their own point. A major point i hear about Alpha/Sigma males is how they don't care what others think, you become strong by standing above those who would try to drag you down. You are above the thoughts of lesser 'betas' and you must be strong. Except that those who are above what others think, are also, Almost guaranteed to be above boasting. The only reason to boast, is to make others think better of you. However if you are above what others thing, you are above boasting about your strength, your women, your cars, your money, your house, and so forth. Yet these people are Always boasting about what they have and what they intend to gain. They are without question Absolute failures at the life style they claim to be living up to or embodiment of. If you call yourself an Alpha or a Sigma male, you are the most Beta of them all, cause only Beta's have any reason to try and prove themselves through noise.

Now, jokes aside - I first heard about this cue ball like the day he was arrested in Romania. Now, being from the Balkans, I follow what happens in our neighbouring countries. That's how I heard about Andrew Tate. I've never even heard of him until then. It's actually good that he was kinda stopped because his ideas are dangerous, especially in the Balkans where macho culture is very strong. He would be King of the Incels there.

there is a contradiction. Gen Z grillz are catfighting over boyz like nothing seen before. You can not have a critical mass of incels since the beaten grill will hang with the more undesirable boy. In Romania there are more grillz than boys. At most Tate would be the king of the 'cocalari' subculture (basically black rapper culture with no talent other than money).

Now, see, goobers on the internet will never have a "special" relationship with you or have all the answers - they don't know you or your life and are fallible at that. But some goobers can have good advice in areas where they have experience. So in Tate's case, you can listen to his advice on kickboxing, sexually assaulting people, conning gormless dorks on the internet and, in the near future, how to entertain yourself while doing hard time in a Romanian prison. See, Buckley, I solved the paradox: Listen to _some_ goobers _some_ of the time.

Even conceiving of the world in "alpha" and "beta" terms or structures, you're giving up too much ground to these idiots. That way of thinking is very literally dehumanising. One of the key functions of higher human intelligence is to do the much more complicated calculations involved in our much more nuanced social relationships. Rejecting that complexity necessary reduces the people around you and yourself to animals.

as of late... and you're being super generous here. People like Peterson go into science for fame, and when that's not provided, they turn on the scientific community by claiming persecution by an organized cabal. Men, especially young men in high school or with a trade school degree, are easily impressionable. They have a surplus of testosterone they can't unload among fellow men "because that would be gay, and they're no homo", so frustration leads to other outlets. Practically, nothing that's in Peterson's book is new information, just new packaging. A person who tidies up their room as he suggests has no reason to care for pronouns, as their charisma and eloquence will put points forth. Yet, he does because he knows his bigoted audience. Around 2015-2016, the New Atheism movement had to put fires out because KZbinrs quickly caught on to how controversy generates clicks. Some have long hidden their criminal past, and others may have genuinely not realized that if you elevate 4chan and 9gag, you will get people who're not just misogynists, but also racists and eager to openly discuss how certain people should die. Peterson's slippery slope started when refused to subject his work to peer-review. Otherwise, known as the point where you no longer need to care what they have to say as they voluntarily had given up on necessary scrutiny.
