Ah, that's interesting! I did notice the great tonal range and exposure latitude of this film (using it in 4x5, and mostly at ISO 50 with pull development for pinhole photography). Should give it a try with ISO 100. And it is quite affordable (at least here in Germany), somewhere between Fomapan (dirt cheap) and Ilford (reasonably priced for the really good quality).

Haven't shot CHS 100 yet, can't wait to try it out. The Silvermax was amazing, but sadly they ran out off the Materials for Silvermax and had to Discontinue it. I shot a couple Rolls of CMS 20 II and HR 50 and both are amazing. Adox makes really high grade Film for low Prices, which is Crazy considering the High Production cost in middle Europe, also their Chemicals are second to none.

1:30 - They didn't bring back color mission, color mission is a film made my Inoviscoat/Orwo filmotec. And no the partner never wen't bankrupt, they simple restructured due to legal reasons, they are now known as simply ORWO.

I have problem with reviews that 1) talk minutes upon minutes hardly related stuff to a product in question; 2) lack of independent, hands-on investigation, use and expertise - all just "he said, she said" circlejob instead of here's the data I acquired by doing this and this with the film. You can do better and you're a lab, right? :) Therefore I learned nothing new from this. I learned much more by just buying the stuff blindlym shooting it at an abandoned factory, and putting it through Ilford Reversal Processing. What did I get? Rather grainy slides that display ridiculous (for slides) latitude, lovely amount of grain (again - for slides, as reversal is a "fine-grain process") and classical look that is very different from other Adox films - namely Scala 50/HR-50 which are based on Aviphot 80. So in context of slides it's pretty unique emulsion (only Fomapan R 100 is alike): classical, wide latitude emulsion on a clear base - nothing exciting in traditional BW print world, but for slides - neato!

Tried some of this the other day. It's really not a Silvermax replacement. Extremely grainy in D76 1:1. I was shocked actually. Looks like Kentmere 400, but it's 50 EI film. Fomapan 100 and Kentmere 100 cost less and are better films. Adox, you can do better than this.

Looks no different really to fomapan 100. And a bulk roll is priced far higher than superior fp4+....Probably why this film doesn't have many shooters. If I want a classic look, i'll get foma for $65 a. bulk roll. If I want a classic but very sharp and strong film, I'll pay $80 for a bulk roll of fp4+...Probably won't pay the $100 they're asking for this.

Fomapan 100 is much better actually. This CHS II is much grainier. Just finished testing a couple of rolls, don't think I'll be buying more CHS II. Was expecting a Silvermax replacement, this is not it.
