I have secondary adrenal insufficiency, caused by Pembrolizumab (Keytruda) immunotherapy. I see several new people every week joining the support groups online who have this side effect of immunotherapy, I think it’s becoming more and more common. I have almost no cortisol, almost no acth, and almost no DHEA. I also have almost no estrone, estradiol, estriol, progesterone, or pregnenolone. I have high FSH and FH. I was not in menopause prior to chemotherapy & immunotherapy.

I've just had a low morning cortisol test and I'm awaiting a hospital appointment. I feel absolutely dreadful, the worst headaches and some very strange muscle fasciculations all over my body plus hypoglycemia attacks that cause my whole body to tremor. The fatigue......it's just awful, takes me hours to get up then I'm done again mid afternoon. Thank you for this video, very helpful.

Our kids asthma specialist had us put a humidifier inside their room which we later learned contributed to mold and dust mite growth, making their asthma chronic. He also prescribed FLOVENT, a steroid inhaler at a dose 4x what it should be for our tiny daughter and it shut down her adrenal system, she nearly died in ICU before an endocrinologist figured out the cause and treatment (cortisone helped her recover over 6 months until she was ok again). This doctor should be behind bars, but he's out doing it to thousands of other kids with the full support and profit of pharma. This system is not helping us. We got our kids off of the inhalers, removed the humidifier and they've been fine since. I'm not diagnosing other's conditions or situations but I'm a parent who nearly lost my child due to gross misuse of these drugs on my daughter.

Hi Zack, love your topics. Here's one for you. My SIL is in hospital due to UTI, Adrenal insufficient. Not able to walk & speech weak. Now back in 2014, she was diagnosed diagnosed with a malignant Adrenal gland plus kidney. No chemo or radiation. Years go by, now has Breast cancer, did some radiation. Then few years later has lesions in lungs. Has gone thru chemo(don't know type) & I believe radiation too. Became very sick due to gastritis from chemo tablets & UTI. ANY ideas!!

How can my mother have Secondary and a tumor and I also have Secondary (looking for a tumor)? Is this genetic? I have been in Addison crisis. If I can tell you guys it is AWFUL for the patient... Multiply awful x 1,000,000. INTENSE headache, vomiting, more intense headache, lots of urination, drink water, urinate it back out... Then, you just want to lie down and go to sleep. Luckily (I didn't know I had Addisons), I called a friend and told him I was dying. I didn´t know I was dying but it felt like dying. They called 9'11. You should know that intense crying and greiving sends me into Addisons Crisis. I don´t know if this is true for other patients. I was out of the country. I am very surprised the abulance knew to give me steroids.

I was recently diagnosed with Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency, but my MRI results came back normal. I have no history of long-term steroid use, and none of the typical explanations for Secondary AI seem to apply in my case. I've been informed that my condition is idiopathic. Could you please advise on what additional tests I can do to determine why my pituitary gland isn't functioning properly despite the normal MRI results?

Since acth and cortisol are both high, I am not taking in consideration Cushing syndrome sknce i do not have metabolic syndrome and my fasting glucose/insulin are perfects. Aps 2 has diabetes mellitus 1, does it also have celiac since it share the same genetic ?

why isnt CAH considered primary adrenal insufficiency?

In CAH there is deficiency of 21-OH enzyme which cause decrease in aldosterone and cortisol and switch the pathway more towards the synthesis of androgen
