My cousin met him around the time when his career started taking off. They met at a live underground show, he said Adrien was a really personable guy and really kind and was surprised at how willing he was to engage in conversation. My cousin told me, " he could have just ignored me or told me he was tryna' enjoy the music but he was gracious". That always impressed me.

@@gabriellagelir2027 I saw in an earlier interview Ibut probably after this Charlie Rose one - it looks old from the film quality) that he was sometimes embarrased to tell people he was an actor because he didn't want the conversation to veer towards his resume. What I'm getting at is that he seems like a people-person, enjoying the interactions that come from talking to people.

Just watched the pianist and what an amazing actor. I felt every emotion. I’m watching this during the lockdown for Covid-19. I live by myself so it’s real lonely. It gives me tiny insight about what it’s like to have to stay inside the house. But he did it with fear of his safety, no interaction with others, in freezing conditions, without adequate food, and no option of even stepping foot outside. I cannot imagine this existence. But I am grateful he shared his story. Well done Szpilman, Brody and director Roman Polinsky. Brilliant!

This movie is absolutely heartbreaking. I was brave enough to rewatch it this week after many years has passed since my first viewing. A couple of years ago I visited Yad Vashem and the footage I saw there I will never forget. I wish I could. Having those images still fresh in my mind and now the frames of the Pianist I can say Polanski likely stayed true to reality as much as he could. I’ve read Holocaust survivors comment on movies like this and Schindler’s list and say they are very accurate portrayals of the atrocities that happened during WW2. But that it should be multiplied by 10. I can’t even begin to imagine. My mind can’t go there. To me the holocaust might be one if not thé darkest page in history. This can never happen again. Not to the Jews, not to anyone.

Adrien Brody was wonderful in the role and I liked very much the playing of the Chopin prelude... such a great true story of the pianist Szpilman... and we have to appreciate Roman Polanski for his direction Malcolm in Toronto Feb 2022

Someone said he doesn’t look American lol , how does one look American , you can sound American but the way we look ? We have people from literally every country in America so we are gonna look like people from every country . America was built off refugees , foreign immigrants, and some colonialist “Britain” , if you were to come here you would find people from every country here , and most of them came here for a better life or sought refuge .
