Broners a solid boxer & I respect that. I've been in the gym and had sparring sessions in a similar(ish) fashion, as the more inexperienced boxer you always want to test yourself against the top dog. But in more aggressive spar like so it shouldn't be so much about AB outclassing & trying to embarrass dude , are top level boxers were really focused on us fixing our obvious holes and they'd tell us and if we didn't fix it theyd tag us, and they'd always acknowledged a hard shot by giving us a similar shot.

HeavyIzThaCrown Why is it good to give your opponent the verbal que that attack is coming. I understand exhaling while punching and inhaling while drawing the hand back is a basic part of breathing through fighting but he doesn't need to make that exaggerated yelp. Maybe if he did it 90% of the time he punched and then didn't do it like 10% and just used that 10% as a "feint" sort of, to make the opponent expect an attack and then strike wherever he left open when he prepared for the attack? But Broner doesn't do that. So the breathing makes sense, but why is it that the yelping makes sense. Cause I have laced up and watched a WHOLE lot of fighters who of have also and broner is one of very few who yelps while throwing.
@TheBenballs99
@TheBenballs99 9 жыл бұрын
HeavyIzThaCrown Broner has not fought any slick boxers except pauli M. and we all know he is just a so-so fighter near the end of his career. Broner got a SD against him. I bet you anything that someone like Pauli (or better) is savvy enough to recognize the sound as a que for an incoming punch. Mayweather exhales as he throws and i already acknowledged that this is normal to exhale while punching and inhale while drawing back the hands.. What I am saying is that the level of volume that broner uses while doing this is unnecessary and should be curbed. ALSO very related to the same topic, broner often punches with his mouth wide open. Because he is making those exaggerated noises he is opening his mouth too much. You should never have your mouth wide open in a boxing match unless you are WAY outside the other guy's range and you really need the air. It's dangerous, think hatton/pacman, think Maidana/ortiz. The jaw is very dangerously exposed that way/ When you hear mayweather grunt with his punches you will see his mouth is closed and his exhale is happening through the guard and the nose. There are some very small but very important differences between the basic idea of "boxing breathing" and the way that broner yelps when he punches. It's not necessary to make that much noise. It's something I noticed a long time ago and just assumed they would work on it. For some reason his trainers don't see a problem with him punching with his mouth wide open.

1KenNet yes ward is not that good skill wise. he has just been able to make the most of his limited skillset. he is not that incredibly talented at boxing. and mayweather vs pac is a bad example because that pac would have beat anybody BUT mayweather. if pac was ward's size he would destroy ward

@garyshaw8449 9 жыл бұрын
1KenNet you believe everything you hear from famous people? then you're stupid. its politics and business. he is marketable because he can talk on a microphone. youre just another sheep that eats up whatever they feed you. just because pac has losses when he was 18 years old, or used steroids doesn't make him a bad boxer. he's world class.. im not even a pac fan. I only was back in the day.. my favorite fighter is gamboa. let me ask you something, have you ever been in the ring? the last time I sparred it was against a professional boxer. you have no credibility you're just a douche on the internet that thinks pac deserves no recognition because of rumors of steroid use.

hak boxer lol yea right. RIP AB, and I even like AB...he could be so much better if he just worked out harder and worked on his mental game...if he worked on his power and speed relentlessly I swear he could be one of the greats, but its like he was good when he was younger and just never tried to progress, just stayed good with natural talent. IF he WOULD OF trained more and smarter I think he would still be undefeated and GREAT. but idk its like he just does average work anymore.

I love Adrien Broner he a superstar and a real champion in the making, Marcos Maidana is an experienced tough competitor, Adrien Broner will come back stronger with the lessons he learnt against Maidana, Boxing is a tough sport. Just like to add that this sparring match was against a young Amateur though and that kid was pretty tough Adrien had to really step it up, lesson don't underestimate anyone no matter their level of opponent, we all human and capable of anything.

Man I love AB. So much skill but not enough discipline. He had the skills but didn’t give his life to boxing. He didn’t eat shit and sleep boxing. He likes to party, hang around the wrong crowds, drink, eat junk food instead of sacrificing all of that bs to focus on being the best possible version of himself. Lots of poor decisions living in the moment instead of being aware and thinking things through. That’s what separated him and Floyd was discipline, dedication to the sport, and the ability to sacrifice anything that wasn’t making him the best most strongest fighter that he could possibly be. Had AB made those sacrifices I feel as though he would have never lost the fights that he lost.

1KenNet He has a better record because he hasn't fought near the level of opposition. Chino has fought everyone. Bronner can't beat any of the best fighters at 147. No chance. And he doesn't beat Provodnokov or Mathysse at 140. He has decent hand speed and good power, but he sits on his back foot too much, waiting to counter, and he's a not a good counter-puncher. He'd be much more effective if he'd shift his weight to his front foot and work behind a hard jab. His punch count right now is just too low. He can be out hustled.
@MADMAC572
@MADMAC572 9 жыл бұрын
1KenNet I'm not sure about Provodnikov. The boy has a very good chin and he can punch. If he crowds Broner and goes to work, that could be trouble. It's a fight I'd like to see. Herrera is also grossly underrated at 140 and though Broner probably gets a decision, the reality is he probably gets outboxed. Mattyhesse - he's just a better fighter than Broner. Broner loses that fight 9 times out of ten.
