The person that failed the shiny Wooper in the Great Marsh, I feel that so hard, been in that position back in June during Safari Week to which I highly recommend more people take part in now that the Great Marsh is accessible to more people. For me, it was in the HGSS Safari Zone, I have two copies of SoulSilver so I was double hunting for Safari Week, my first Safari Week was 2020 & I didn't get anything, I was single hunting mostly because I wasn't use to double hunting but after having some experience with it, I was determined to see some sparkles & that I did. First off was a shiny Smeargle, threw a ball at it, it broke out, stayed, chucked another ball at it, it broke out & fled which stung because I really want a gen 4 shiny Smeargle. Second shiny I got was a Stantler, this gorgeous radio active deer was also near the top of my want list & it toyed with me so hard, it broke out of like 5 balls before fleeing. So yes, I can relate so much to the Wooper fail, my friend can too, she encountered a shiny Quagsire in the Great Marsh but in gen 4 back during June, she was the first one of the group of my friends to get something for Safari Week that year, it came very early & it fled after messing around with her a bit. Safari hunts are cruel but they're worth it, I lost full odds shinies in gen 4 due to her unforgiving nature but it created ones that got away stories plus I got shotty recordings of it on my phone so the fails are going to forever be available for me to watch again & remind myself that those shinies could of been mine of things went a little better.

I'm currently doing a Shining Pearl shiny only playthrough and last week I failed a shiny Geodude in the underground. I completely forgot that I redeemed the code for Quick Balls and I was half asleep at the same time. Here's me throwing Pokèballs at it and I totally forgot that at level 25 they know Self Destruct. I just watched in silence as my shiny Geodude which I got relatively quickly too kill itself. I've been stuck in the underground ever since. I ended up getting a shiny first encounter Houndoom the next day on my main Brilliant Diamond save which kinda hurt knowing it wasn't my Shining Pearl save.

I have Shiny Failed three times in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. Two scripted Shiny Starlies while trying to get a Shiny Starter, and after 47 Eggs hatched while trying to get the correct Nature, and Shiny Female Ralts hatched with a Calm Nature, and I wanted a Shiny Male Ralts with Adamant. The Shiny Female Ralts was double the fail.

I will say I'm disappointed that they added the Great Marsh in as it originally was. Would have liked it if they handled it like if ORAS, where it exists but you're free to catch them like every other wild encounter. I say this cause in HG I found a shiny Riolu in the Safari Zone and yeah it ran off. It was the FIRST shiny I ever encountered, you know not counting the guaranteed stuff like the Red Gyarados, heck my sister's first shiny was a Zubat back in Sapphire that she got. So I could never forget that crushing defeat and out of all the shinies I now have I still don't have Riolu and/or Lucario as shiny. And to this day I still hate those Safari places and happy they got rid of them after. Really do feel that pain of Number 5 there.
