Thank you so much for your videos. I have been waiting for over a year to have my surgery and it's finally going to happen (fingers crossed!) in September. Your videos have been helping me with my anxiety about it- there have been several times where I have wanted to bail. But thank you for sharing your journey, both the good and the bad, but doing it with hope, honesty and humor. :)

Jessica, this message has made my day! I'm genuinely so happy my videos have been helping you out. I completely understand the anxiety around getting this operation and the constant questioning about whether you should do it! Honestly, my personal take on it all is that you've gotten through the hardest part by actually deciding to do it. Now you can just switch to focusing on getting through the first few weeks post surgery (that are certainly uncomfortable at times, but most importantly do not last!!!). I wish you the very best with all of it and I hope you'll keep me posted :))

@@emily.buck_ Oh, thank you so much for your kind response and encouragement, Emily! I really appreciate that 😊 especially saying that while its uncomfortable, it doesn’t last. I think that’s the hardest thing to remember! I feel like the buildup to this is causing more anxiety than anything else. I keep telling my husband that I just need to have the procedure so I can finally work on the healing part (instead of playing through all the scenarios in my head!). I look forward to seeing the rest of your journey! I do have one question, what was your favorite drink or liquified food to have during recovery?

@@jessicalee4254 You’re so welcome! You’re also absolutely bang on about just needing to get to the healing part. Once you’re on the other side there’s no more anticipation and it’s just about dealing with what’s happening then and there. Each hour that passes is one more closer to being fully healed, so it’s easier to cope with! You’ve got this girl 💪💪 Honestly, my mum made a potato and leek soup that I really enjoyed because the potato filled me up. Anything that’s calorie dense was awesome because I was just so not interested in the task of eating and just wanted to fill up with fewer sips. I’m a big fan of the fruit smoothies too! I blend a banana, handful of frozen berries, nuts, coconut milk, almond milk, a small dollop of Greek yogurt and an egg if I want to bulk it up further! It’s super yummo in my humble opinion 😂

@@emily.buck_ thank you so much! I remembered briefly the part of your video about the potato leek soup, and it was the first thing I added to my list for foods after surgery! 😃I am on the right track then. I will also try that smoothie recipe! I never thought to add an egg for the nutrients and protein! That's great ☺

Hey, this is the first one I've seen. It looks like it was a very painful process, but worth it! And I am glad I subscribed because you were just as funny in these as I had initially thought, from our brief chat about these videos! Well done, and excellent that you recovered so well! (I take it these were shot 2 years ago)? - Joseph

Thanks so much Joseph!! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and found it funny 🤪 it sure was a journey and a half and definitely very difficult at times, but we’re glad to be on the other side now! Yes, I had the surgery in Jan 2020. The intro and outro are filmed now (2022), but the main chunk of the video is from two years ago, yes :))

@@emily.buck_ Yeah, I look forward to seeing more of these! I figured you had recorded the intros/outros on these recently and the actual videos themselves were older -- it's really cool. Kinda like a video journal and a look back at an interesting time in your life! Also -- I didn't mention earlier but you have a great screen presence! Probably all the acting work you do! hahaha
