Yes!! The section on finding an NP program I agree with 100%. Our profession could be so much more if we stopped allowing diploma mills push out providers left and right with no consequence. Also our major professional organizations should stop pushing for full autonomy for all NPs at all cost. I wish we could have more reasonable and rational NPs and nursing leaders run our main professional organizations. Rant over.

Loved this interview! Was considering CRNA for the past year (in an ADN program now) but I’m 30 and didn’t realize there was NP route in the intensive care setting so this has been very eye opening and I may be able to have a doctorate before 40 if I go ACNP route. There’s always something new to learn about the nursing field!

You can even do FNP and still get a job in acute care if you have ICU experience as a nurse. It worked out for me
