Without the blues, death metal wouldn't be the same. That's one of the reasons why it sounds freakin' radical. The darkness of the lyrics normally originate from the ordeals that musicians suffer through. And that's why Dethklok is is so awesome.

@@Omega_-te1ki 1:18 "he made a deal with the devil" is a reference for example of Robert Johnson. One of the greatest blues singers with a very few songs of his ever discovered. Incredibly good music too! Story goes: he performed at bars playing the blues but was terrible and was mocked. One day he left and never returned, until a few months later. He came back and was able to play and sing so well he become legendary as rumors go he made a deal with the devil on the railroad tracks when he was on a hiatus :) He is also apart of American mythology because of this fun story

@@forpspeakingclass4444 that story is BS...Robert Johnson was not terrible by any stretch of the imagination...he just didn't play the right songs when he first moved back to Mississippi...he was very talented but did not know anything about the Delta Blues music so he learned it from Ike Zimmerman and wowed everyone after that...Son House exaggerated everything as any drunken man would and the story of TOMMY JOHNSON was forever attached to Robert after that...Robert Johnson NEVER CLAIMED that he "sold his soul to the devil"...

When I was in highschool I took a music history class and for our final we each had to do a presentation about a certain genre. I told the teacher a bunch of times that I wanted do my presentation about metal but I was assigned the blues. I listened to a bunch of blues music and actually gained a ton of respect for the genre, put together a some solid powerpoint slides and made a decent presentation. However, at the end, just to spite my teacher, I played this clip. He gave me a B but I also got suspended.

I think it's the humidity that's getting them. The North Coast of the gulf is like, instantly searing and you can feel it even in a doorway.
