Indian in India spend more time thinking about USA than India -- That is the problem - even today there is a premium attached to GARBAGE COLLECTOR of USA than Bank Manager in India .. That has gone into our psyche. Those Indian who made large money in USA bought land in Bangalore at elevated price which made the native people high and dry . I have few Indian friends Citizens of USA settled in Dallas since last 20 years have bought some 5 Sites in my layout and waiting for Price to rise to stratosphere. Main purpose of life is MONEY MONEY and MONEY nothing else . My daughter tells me Sour grape story that I could not make it hence this outpour of jealousy etc.. Anyway that is OK .. I am still alive and living happy life

( affirmative action of the west at pro max level in India ) so general category people choose to move to countries where merit and hard work is preferred and pays well. @Advita - There two primary reasons why some of them feel the way they do. A. Techies have made lot of traditional jobs useless in the west. B. A large number of them are H1Bs ( foreigners destroying traditional jobs). It is the anger that automation & software has destroyed traditional blue collar jobs and blue collar supervisor jobs that most of the middle class relied upon. This is not something to be taking lightly, if ignored can lead to targeted violence. It is important for the Indian diaspora to be a partner and solve for these non-coding middle class which is feeling left out and see no means to realize their American dream despite the fact they are hard working, with high integrity and commitment.

This is just not true - the blue collar jobs are safe, its the middle white collar jobs are are the easiest to automate. Unfortunately - companies prefer outsourcing the jobs at Indian pay, which is 10 times less , but actually hire MORE people. There must be some cross transaction going on, like in the case of Boeing and HCL.

@ I live in the west and know how automation has wiped out major blue collar jobs which was the major chunk of middle class in the west. Factories which use to employee an entire community today only employs few hundred workers. Die maker, tool maker, engine assemblers, valve timing specialist, radiator installer, engine tuning technician, heavy press operator, steel fabricator, painting technician, etc. Today these are obsolete and are either performed by gigafactory or robotics. Today a mechanic can’t even repair a car without running diagnostics on a laptop or a tablet. Today a single assembly line requires not more than 10 employees.

Currently, it is being used by the companies to hire lower cost workers who have very little say about compensation, work hours & conditions in place of perfectly capable & skilled American workers. I lived in US for almost 10 years, I did not face racism 80 percent of the time, but at certain times I have faced. It is really subtle, but iam also hearing ftom my friends who are settled in US they are seeing it more than before. I find it funny how people in extreme right whether in US or India so gullible to non-important issues that start infighting amongst themselves. Firstly, the most important issue in the US is illegal immigration and to solve this, it might take Trump’s entire term. Secondly, someone from left planted or lobbied this narrative and focus shifted from deportation of illegal to H1B visas. Finally, anyone in the extreme right speaking against legal immigration doesn’t have enough knowledge on this issue. More than 80% of world famous American scientists are immigrants from other countries. The Hindu American community whose ancestors were once legally migrated to the US are the prosperous and economic drivers in the US. They create jobs and economic activity in the US and they are the real peace-loving, highly skilled in STEM, non-violent and crime-free community whereas what you get from south of US are exactly opposite.

This is what makes people hate us. We look down on others. We are brown in a white country. We need to behave like that. It’s not our nation. They built the infrastructure. Can’t you see that it doesn’t matter what your religion is, to them we are all brown.
