I still work for the same company and in the last 7 years have cleared my Indian loans and have saved USD 500K which is the equivalent of 4.2 crores. I moved to US from India in 1994 to do my Masters but ended by doing Phd in Pharmaceuticals. I was dream and still feels surreal. Lot of hardships and definitely not walk in the park. I gave this country 30 years. Getting immigration was hard even in 90s and remembers the student visa, OPT, H1B, PR and citizenship pathway that took 10 years. Lots of stress and sleepless nights worrying about my jobs and immigration status in the country. Luckily unlike everybody else, I did not just rely on my job but build a real estate portfolio. Saved a lot (30-40% of my income) and invested in real-estate, rental homes and stock market. This has enabled me to retire this year at 52 yrs old with real estate portfolio that produces a steady passive income of $180-200K/year.

Those were totally different times. Salaries for IT have infact decreased considering inflation. Only top 10-15 companies pay handsomely, with a very high risk of health issues / divorce rate. My advice: for newbies to grow financially this year, invest. Saving is good, but investing elevates your finances. Why newbie make huge losses on trade is because investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. that will stop you from trading, this has been one of the biggest problem to new traders, I've learned this from my own experience

Comparing USA to India - you cannot just use money as the main factor ; there are so many variables as to why one may choose to come and stay here vs stay in India . I have lived in USA for 51 Years. Got two degrees , became USA citizen and retired after working for 40+ years . Raised two kids also . Comparing USA to India is like comparing Apples to Oranges. Lot depends on your priorities in life - what do you value most in life. Money is one aspect we all value . But there are many more important factors to consider - like lifestyle, safety, fair treatment , school and college admissions for your kids , cleanliness and good living conditions etc etc . We are very glad to have come and studied and settled down here and raised our kids here ( all kids settled in their own careers ). But it may not be a valid conclusion for others . So - there is NO CORRECT ANSWER to the above puzzle . There are pros and cons and one has to weigh the pros against the cons and decide what is RIGHT FOR THEM .

@@rajeshraj68813 hi, according to me - just pursuing masters degree in the US shouldn’t be the goal. Goal should be to survive and thrive and level up at job for 5-10 years after getting opt / H1B - come what may. I am just stating a few facts as per my knowledge. 1)USCIS uses random selection when company H-1B registrations exceed the annual limit of 85,000. That includes the 65,000 annual limit and a 20,000 exemption for advanced degree holders from U.S. universities. 2)You always don't need to go back to India after 3 or 6 years of extensions or project is over. If your existing or a new employer is ready to apply for your GC and you get your PERM done before reaching 3 or 6 yrs limit than you can stay back. The problem is how will you maintain your legal status for the next 20 to 25 years? In this 25 years wait time you will change or lose your job for sure. Then you need to find a new employer in two months time who is willing to file your PERM again and the new job profile has to be similar to retain your PD. If you take a promotion and your GC date is current you won't be able to file your papers. Another hurdle is visa stamping and the restrictions that come along with it. If your parents are young go ahead if they are not India is also fine. 3) You can surely have kids on Work visas/Student visas. It's wrong if done on the visitor's visa status. 4) You will have to pay taxes on all income/investments that you have in the US/UK/India or anywhere in the world. That's why Rich people give away their citizenship. Boris Johnson surrendered his US citizenship and many others. While on a work visa you will also contribute to your SS benefits which you may or may not use. 5) Many Indians who have UK/Australian citizenship can come on E3/E2 visa but it won't get converted into the citizenship. You can have your business (E3-UK citizen) or can work (E2-australian citizen). One can have kids on these visas. Your kids can sponsor you when they are settled in their lives. That route also takes 25 yrs. 6) You can come on a TN visa through less popular neighboring countries like Canada (Cold is an unbearable - job market is bad) and Mexico (very unsafe). You have to take their citizenship route. 7) Get your hair, dental, vision, routine check up done in India before coming here. You can buy groupon for such needs. There is always groupon for dental/visión needs. Lastly, EB-2 category green card applicants are suffering because of our own impatient brothers and sisters who are misusing the loopholes of the US immigration system. This sir has mentioned a few things but not all facts are mentioned as he has lived in the US only for 7 years. You need to ask those who have spent 22 years in getting the green card. In the last few years thefts and other crimes have increased. So come with an open mind if you or your parents have some extra cash. Good luck. I admire the infrastructure of the USA and how people have to obey everything especially immigrants. Student visa is a non immigrant visa and Work visa has a dual intent. You can't file your PR on your own like some countries allow (Europe/Australia/Canada etc...).

Like the way you both were telling about jobs in the US shows that you are not a 1% show in reality, and also you were telling that UAE companies pay more than US companies to attract people having software knowledge, but you didn't advised the Indian Businessmen to pay more to IT professionals so that they will not leave the country, that shows that you are not targeting the 1% people, but the poor ones who don't have any patriotism to their country, and this bald man helped children to leave their motherland, to lower our economy, to destroy India's dream of becoming superpower, to help our biggest competitor in superpower race (that is US) and to become a shame to their country. I think this man as a shame, a betrayal, an enemy to our country. And I am saying this as a 14 year old child having a dream of making a trillion dollar blockchain company, the first trillion dollar company in India. So you can't deny my thinking, or get me wrong! And I will show the whole world how I will make American software engineers think about an Indian dream and come to India to work for my company. I am the 1% not you both!
