I enjoyed this, thank you. I didn't get the change to run the 71R in my 200tw test as it's now done in north america, and Bridgestone officially are not bringing the RS into the country! Strange move as the 71R was super popular.

I put over 200 laps of autocross and over 10,000 miles worth of daily driving on my ao52s in my ZZW30, loved everything about the tire, except the fact that they cost about as much as the wheels I put them on.

Great info. I agree on the feedback difference and grip level between the two. You didn't mention the fact that the A052 can't be flipped on the rim like the RE71R. That can be a problem for camber challenged cars that wear out the outer shoulder quickly.

I really like the RE71R, the wear fast.. but they just feel so good, even on the street they drive very well. I drove them in pouring rain/standing water and it was totally fine. I would have to go with another set of RE71r on my car once it is time for new tires. I do hope that Bridgestone decides to bring the RE71rs to the states someday.

Thanks for the video. According to reviews it seems like the new RE71RS’s are absolute monsters and seem to best the A052s in outright dry grip so I’m keen to see how these are reviewed when they arrive in the US

How is the road noise? The RE-71R’s are really noisy from my experience. I’m actually excited about the advans being a little softer. The RE’s have the stiffest sidewall I’ve ever seen in a tire and it felt pretty rough with my current spring rates.
@TougeTime

It's quieter and softer feeling so bumps don't feel as harsh either! Probably because they are also taller. If you think re71 is bad noise try rsrr lol

@@esdrasmanrique6457 so just had them out on track! Amazing. The grip they have is phenomenal! Like this video stated though they are less precise and less feedback than the RE71R’s! Another tire that Japan has had for a while is the RE-05D. That has been said to also be quicker than the A052. It'll be interesting to see what the differences are between the 05D and the 71RS.

Good review. Looking at the A052's as an all-rounder to replace my 2 sets of wheels. One set with Rainsport 5s as wets and another set with Nankang AR1 as road/dry track. Just a little concerned about wear rates of the A052's? Managed 10 dry track days and 3000 road miles on my AR1's and the fronts still have 3mm left on them, you think the Yokos can come close to this wear rate?

Good detailed, review I only take my street car out onto the track days a few times a year, so not exactly a race car driver, nor is my car a race car. So I prefer a tyre that is a little more forgiving and provides feedback. I used to run Toyo R1R Proxes on my car. I did really like them, however unfortunately they are no longer available and the R888 is not available in Australia anymore. So I recently purchased a set of the RE71R tyres. First track day a couple of weeks ago and was really impressed. I haven't reached the limits of the tyre yet as I'm still getting the feel of them. But so far I think they are at least as good as the outgoing Toyo R1R. They felt very predictable, good traction levels and as the video suggest nice feedback. Although I haven't tried the Advan A052, judging by the review in the video, I think the Bridgestone would suit a less experienced driver like me better. It's important to me for a tyre to have progressive traction loss rather than not a lot of warning. Also my car is probably a bit heavier than the test car in this video, so thinking the harder compound might also work in my favour. So I think I made the right choice for my experience and my car
