I can't believe anyone ever went this all-in on adding original composition and rearranging something from this mostly forgotten OST. Huge vibes of someone taking something forgotten and making it reach potential no-one ever expected from it. Conveys her arc very well without a single word. Honestly makes me wish for more re-interpretive covers of game music that aren't slavishly faithful to the original instrumentation or structure.

I know it's been a year since you posted this but have you ever heard of a website called OCRemix (Short for Overclocked remix)? They take all sorts of game music and remix them. Some are more close to original form as you mentioned however there is a lot of stuff there I feel is more re-interpreting the original in a new style or whatnot. Super interesting and creative stuff!

I've been searching for covers of the Advance Wars: Days of Ruin soundtrack for ages, mostly in hopes of getting better audio quality than the heavily compressed files from the DS. Gotta say that even if it isn't all the same as the original, this is still -pretty- *really* good in its own right! thanks Edit: Didn't think this comment would gain much traction, let alone be top comment (at time of writing this). I changed "pretty good" to "really good", just cause I think it's much more appropriate wording lol. Anyway, glad to see things still seem lively here.

Wow! That intro really encapsulates a lot and builds into the main song very nicely! And there’s even an outro to wind back down after the cold, calculating logic that dominates the bulk of the song. Very nice.

=Small but Significant Spoilers, if you care about that= Not gonna lie, listening to this reminds me of when Brenner sacrificed himself for the 12th Battalion. Except with Lin... This song feels as though it's Lin's last stand, while infected with that flower disease. She knows she can't win, but she's going to give her enemies hell anyway. Perhaps a song similar to this style should be made for Brenner? Regardless of if you do or not, well done.

I use a Fender Squier Jazzmaster, a Sterling Sub 5 for bass guitar and a Harley Benton D-120 as acoustic guitar. My DAW is Reaper version 6 and all the other instruments are midi plugins that I found around. Everything is pretty low budget hahaha

This game was too dark! War is fun! I love seeing Andy smile while he sends men out to die on his behalf! The dark tone of this game does not fit with the mass murder of war.
