I find amusing and oddly badass that Morale Boost seems to be Kanbei's forces merely cheering up at their leader's presentation and somehow tha makes them more resilient and strong. Samurai Spirit even has fireworks.

Considering that presentation allows infantry to be invincible while capping the enemy CO base, he has some extreme charisma.

@@MrMoron-qn5rx So much in one video from old Black Hole Rises, charisma apparently managed to beat power of money since even the firepower increase was useless against samurai infantry on an HQ being captured. Apparently: Charisma > Money

@@clownplayer7265 that's because extra defense takes away a percentage of enemy damage. If you have +30% defense, the opponent does 30% less damage to you out of the total damage they would have dealt. Samurai Spirit gives Kanbei +60% defense, and a HQ gives +40% defense. This would take away 100% of the damage the enemy would have dealt, which results in your unit being invincible

I really like this look for Kanbei. The eyebags really sell how he has years of experience with combat (which only makes his initial incompetency in AW1’s OG campaign (dunno about this one), and kinda like how Grit has elements from his DS and GBA looks, you can see how DS and AW2 inspired his design here too. Shame it seems he’s permanently misplaced his sword, but he can make do with a fan.

The fan fits nicely here. That's a Gunbai war fan, generally used to direct troops and such(famous warlord Shingen Takeda, for example, is often associated with them).

Im not fond of woke retransitions, but gold comet makes more sense in a historical sense now. You see, kanbei is considered as the imperial emperor of japan, and considered as the son of the japanese sun goddess, so to be called gold comet, means giving homage to the glorious motherland

If anyone here is going to take on the last mission of AW1, Kanbei is a must. He starts with a ton of heavy hitters and spawns on the left side, which has lots of properties to capture for funding. He starts with 4 medium tanks, 4 anti-air, 2 tanks and 1 recon. My strategy is to use the tanks to back up Andy and wall off the bridge until you gather enough troops, then move in for the kill.

I prefer to use Olaf in that position and clumping his non-rocket units of together to soak the first Meteor Strike. Olaf slows down the onslaught with Blizzard and creates some breathing room that you desperately need.
