I really would like to learn from your video but it's very hard to follow. The camera movement is quite dizzying and your explanations are all over the place. It would be great if you go: Step 1: click on the Pattern, then Step2: select number of measures, Step 3: etc... Any chance you can give it another shot ? It would be very much appreciated !

I don't think I am cut out very well to be a teacher. But good to know about the camera I'll try and be more conscious of that.

I do appreciate the fact that you've spent time making this tutorial. I just thought I would provide some feedback. Thanks for your response.

Great video! I own XF8 and am still stuck on a few things. How do you assign Arp Pattern 1-5 to the bottom 5 white keys? I’m keep reaching for menu area to change it but it ruins my groove. It’s be much easier to switch on bottom t white keys while playing bass range. Do you know how to make 8 Arp scenes instead of 5? I’d Rather do 4 fills/fillers/bridge on last 4 and Chorus1/Verse1/Chorus2/Verse2 on bottom 4 like I do in pattern mode. Also how do you do 4 Arps mode in Pattern Mode when I’m jamming song? I’m having difficulty with that because I can play one sound at a time but not like the performance mode arps.

Wow great tut very helpful. i was wondering if it was possible to use some of the pre installed arpegs in pattern mode (ie the stuff found in the guitar -> arp section) i try and put them into my pattern but they sound nothing like they do when im in voice mode :/

Really good tutorial...just a bit fast for someone new to the keyboard...your fingers seem to have a mind of there own during some moments...and rewinding is almost pointless because somethings are just not explained.

I've been looking for this kind of tutorial for awhile, and I think your spot on, however, your steps are not explained very well. Any chance we can get another?

Thanks for the comments. I will probably not be making another.

why do you manually change the note placement when you can quantize it after you record and fix it all in one shot?
@PianoChuck10 жыл бұрын
I just have the habit from when I'm trying to record a song on pattern mode to manually change it. For the reason that in patter mode quantizing it after is like an effect on the instrument -the way I know how to post quantize anyways- so anything that instrument plays is filter like that. I don't want everything always changed (maybe one part is suppose to be quarter notes and the next track on a new section is suppose to be sixth-teenths). Quantizing to change one might negatively effect the other. So I just make a habit to manually fix to provide greater flexibility. That way if new ideas come to change the song later on i don't have to try and dance around things. But you can probably just use the quantize. I just like to open it up and fix it if it is small. If it's too bad I just re-record it with the quantize from the recording. I tend to avoid the post quantize effect.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah the more I try other keyboards the more I realize how tall this keyboard stands!~
