“Don’t practice until you get it right, practice until you can’t get it wrong” totally changed my perspective when it comes to practice. Will try to keep this in mind next session!

Great content, as always! Just let me add a personal No 8 to your list, which I sadly watch ever so often: don't stop learning and training new skills! For me, at age 60+, Badminton is my favourite area to prove that 'an old dog can learn new tricks, too' - as we would put it in German. So many players around me just stop growing as players around the age of 60, 50, or even 40. That's so sad to watch, and boring to play with.

Brilliant video as usual! I'd really love to see a live commentary/analysis of one of your tournament games; where you could go through what shots you played well, which shots would've been better to play, and overall what techniques you'd recommend in what attacking and defending scenarios (with links to the relevant tutorials you've done). I love watching your tutorials but sometimes struggle to put them into practice when in the heat of battle haha, so I think this would be a great way to recognise the scenario on court and put into practice what I've watched. Thanks again guys!

The 'playing against people better than you' point I think is the most important. Im in Japan and there are so many local clubs that vary vastly in skill, from beginner groups to people who have been playing for 10/20+ years at a very high level. I've started pushing myself to ask to play against people quite a bit better than me and even though it's incredibly scary, just by playing those people, they will expose your weaknesses and make you aware as to where you are going wrong and it'll drastically improve your game! Also feels amazing when you finally get a win over them!

Man, I'm kinda scared... I want to be an international player but I'm starting to take it only seriously at 14 years old, of course I've been playing for a while, doing wrong techniques and stuffs... And I've improved a lot in the last 4 months too! But I'm afraid that training for 3 hours only would not work, upping it up would be hard,if necessary, I will and I'll try to do it... But, please.. Do you honestly think I can become a professional international player by training seriously at 14 years old and 3 hours a day?

How can I have fun when I am losing
@BadmintonInsight2 жыл бұрын
Good question! Try to focus on what you are learning when you lose and then target some areas for improvement. This process should be rewarding and you should see yourself do better over time. If you are always losing easily then it might be worth dropping down a level if you can to play with people who are more equally matched to you. This way you can experience the enjoyment of winning matches which may help you have more fun :-)
