Do Cantonese speakers prefer 過 or 比？ 佢高過我 佢比我高

I can't accurately gauge which one is used more frequently used, I would say both are equally used. From experience, I feel like 過 is used more often as it often sounds less informal, while 比 sounds more formal.

As same as most of the time we say 同….咁, rarely say 有…..咁，as it sometimes can express that you are not quite agree with that

@@christyip6917 can you provide some example sentences perhaps using the 同….咁 structure? As far as I am concerned, based on personal experience and according to the textbook "Intermediate Cantonese" by Virginia Yip and Stephen Matthews, 有咁 and 冇咁 are used in comparative structures, especially in negative (冇咁) and interrogative (有冇咁) comparisons. I do agree that 有咁 appears less common compared with its negative and interrogative counterparts, as there are many other options, but it can still be understood. I've also just consulted a few friends and fellow teachers from Hong Kong, they also claim that it may be less common but it is still used.
