Is It safe to run (1) 4 gauge in & (2) 4 gauge out from a distribution block or should i only go 0 gauge in to multiple 4 gauge out?.... running a 4ch amp and sub amp on 2 12in CVRs
@jamesf96105 жыл бұрын
Is it safe ?? Yes it's safe! Now depending on how powerful the amps are will depend on whether you will suffer a voltage drop or not. If your running a couple of 300-400 watt amps ehhh probably won't suffer too much drop. If the amps are any bigger it's a very good chance of significant drop and I would suggest at least a 2 awg into the district block.

@Car Audio Fabrication Mark, great video. But I noticed that at 7:57 in the video that you did not remove the paint under the threaded grounding stud that you attached your large ground cable to with the ring terminal. For a connection with that much potential current capacity, you definitely need to remove the paint with sand paper or a wire brush so that you have plenty of clean, bare metal on the vehicle's chassis where you connect your ground wire. After making the connection, I would also protect it by using anti-rust paint or dielectric grease to prevent the possibility of corrosion or oxidation.

You may have addresses this in a previous video i missed but I am curious how you deal with running speakers of different RMS rating off same amp...for example I want to run an indash pair of mids that RMS at 30 watts per channel but my full range fronts are 60watts rms and read doors ar 50watts RMS. I want to make sure i get the most power available without damaging the smaller in dash speakers.
@jamesf96105 жыл бұрын
To do it properly you will need a six channel amp and it should have gain controls for each channel. That or be running some crossovers and switches that will be a bit more complicated to dial in.
@jamesf96105 жыл бұрын
If it were me most stereos will easily power the 30 watt speakers so I would run them from the head unit and then a two channel amp to the other two sets.

You are getting engine noise. Try running the power wire down one side of the car and the rca cables down the other side separating them. Also make sure you have high quality insulated rca cables. And one more very likely cause is the ground. Make sure you have the ground wire mounted to the most solid piece of steel you can a direct frame connection is best also make sure you have a nice sanded smooth spot where the ground is mounted to the frame.
