I really enjoy all your stories, this particular one has made me go back to my school days in London, it was frightening indeed that interview with the head master of a huge secondary school called Holland Park School, at that time I could hardly understand English. At first sight the head master looked strict and hard, but as soon as he began talking he turned to be a nice understanding and wise old man. Have a very happy new year.
