This is something we’re facing, too. Hubby’s going to have to choose what music he wants. Me, I’m easy… I’m Jewish and there’s no music, flowers, hearse or finery of any kind… pine box with rope handles for me taken to the site by hand cart. But there’s a lovely cemetery down here where we can be buried along a bush-walk path with raised plaques to mark our remains. Can’t get buried in the Jewish section of the cemetery my family are in without leaving hubby behind (he’s not of the faith). Bush land suits both our beliefs and it’s just lovely! But I’m trying to get him better before we have to face all that stuff. Thank you for sharing things with everyone. I truly do doff my cap to you, sir ☺️

5 years of stage 4 prostate cancer and still pushing but getting tired of the constant treatments. My funeral song is I come to the garden alone. My wife and I made a deal if I get tired and decide to stop treatments she will let me go. Nice to see you are still around. 😊

Hi Alan, I think the Good Lord brought me to your channel. What a brave, peaceful Soul you are! I am from Tennessee; however, I am not familiar with that song…thank you for link….I enjoyed it very much, yes, I would be swaying at your funeral. I hope that your wife will soon support and honor your wishes for songs, ashes and any other options that you prefer. If not already, I pray that you are also getting things right with God/Jesus/Holy Spirit while organizing the physical parts of your life. God Bless and Protect you for the remainder of your journey. I look forward to meeting you in Heaven someday! Till then…❤

Didn't know this band.....It's a great song. Love your vids, because you are the guy next door, no frills, no agenda, just honest causal chat in a serious situation that could happen at any time to any guy and I'm sure the emotions and observations you express are in fact a comfort.

Been watching you in the bushes without commenting. I lost my mate to prostate cancer. You have had an amazing attitude through it all. As far as your ashes, you can separate them you know. That's what I did. Most went where my partner dreamed. A small bit went with his mother's ashes in church than a tiny amount went in jewelry pieces for our4 daughters. You are one strong courageous man. Keep smiling mate! I feel awful for your wife too. only bc i know what she will go through. My heart hurts for you both. You're handling it better then i. You fellas sure are tough! Much love!

That's not a cute for metastatic prostate cancer. Broccoli was my husband's favorite food. A daily broccoli lover. Still passed after a long fight with metastatic prostate cancer spreading to the bones, lymph nodes and major organs. Diet is an important factor but not a cure. r@kennethward4985

Can you prepay your funeral? What you're doing will be a big blessing to your wife. Suggest reviewing it with your wife and family (lso power of attorney and executor if different) to catch anything missing. We should all have this done, especially in this age controlled by passwords.

It is certainly possible to but a funeral plan. But they are mainly localised and as we may move back south again one day it wouldn’t be appropriate. Thanks for the good advice, we did check it through as you mentioned. Regards Alan

in 2021 at 55, my PSA went from the previous years 2.1 to 3.7 in one year which in itself is under the normal 4.00 but is enough to further investigation. My GP sent me to a urologist and he felt nothing on the digital, nothing was seen on MRI but it was detected with needle Biopsy which was very low volume 2 out of 12 cores. Active survelance now being the new standard for low grade was heavily pushed in his direct words "if you are going to get prostate cancer, Gelason 6 is the best one". Active survalince monitoring instead of treatment became the gold standard for low Gleason grade 6 or lower. I tried going a few months with active surveance in my head with every six month revisits which ment repeat scans and biopsies, basicalyy waiting for it to advance to Gleason 7 or higer and then move treatment of choice. I went to Chicago North Western for a second opinion and the doctor, while agreeing with the first that I was a candidate for AS, also agreed with my decision for surgical removal based on my age of 55 saying In many cases, treatment sooner or later will be likley so why wait if I didn't want to. Had my prostate removed in October of 2021 and it's now three years and still undetectable PSA. I also have all functions back and though I miss physical fluid expelling, sex still feels great and I'm glad to have addressed it eariler than later. Many doctors say Gleason 6 won't spread or advance but I've read several research papers that contridict that statement one titled something to the effect "My patients were diagnoesed with Gleason 6 years ago and told it won't advance but why do the have metastasize today". That was enough for me to decide not tow wait for it to get worse because one thing I alway heard with most cancers, catching and treating it early has the best outcomes yet still to this day Doctors pushing gleason 6 as "not cancer" on low grade patients.
