I've mentioned this before, will really help bridge the gap between the products. Would be even better if it came with a counter sheet to fill some gaps in the SK collection (fires/building levels/snipers/mines/beserk etc) to really step up the level of play to full rules. They would be my dream product!

Terrific idea to have an ASL school at tourneys. I will be bringing Brian, a 14 year old ASLer, to WO 25. Everyone was great with him at WO 24 and this really helped fire his enthusiasm.

Wow, a lot of good stuff coming out. Glad you shared this with us Neal. Sounds like Curt Shilling and the MMP staff are focusing a lot on HASL’s. That good with me!

HASL (and scenario packs) are about all there is left to publish. Other than some more obscure "core" modules like Spanish Civil War or Contested Lands ('48 Arab-Israeli war) that may or may not appeal to some players, all we'll get are occasional reprints of the core order of battle.

I get most of the starter kit stuff but I also buy some full ASL products, "just in case". My intention is to play both but my wargaming queue is long and I can't give them both the attention they deserve. I'll get there. But if given a choice between two different versions of the same product I will likely buy just the starter kit version.

During the video Curt mentions that secondary companies which produce ASL products are hurting MMP. So why not ask Hasbro to bring them in an unite the resources and productions in order to create a loss coalition?

I find that third party isn’t MMP and I can’t see myself having different every thing. But they do have my attention because there are games targeting Canadian and other Commonwealth battles.

why is it that MMP does not republish into a single box KGI and KGII? It seems to me the this would be an easy sell. Also why not print some of the maps with snow ground depiction..

Those modules were created in the very early 1990s, so none of the original work (if it exists) could probably be used. They would have to be created from the ground up is my assumption. They did do it with Red Factories, so it can be done, but lots of work. But, they will be offering a lot of the old HASL rules in pdf (maybe print?) soon, so you can at least play the old stuff on VASL.

Anyone I know who wasn’t playing squad leader in the old days got hooked with starter kits. And I bought because they are self contained and it’s not like you’re a Grateful Dead roadie showing up with a hand truck of plastic totes. lol.
