These Chinese students are wonderful - so attentive, respectful, and eager to learn. Thank you for recording this TPRS lesson, Blaine. You are a great teacher.

Amazing. How engaging. I am writing an article about TPR and TPRS. I am from Brazil and there is only two schools that really use these approach, both of them are here in Imperatriz - MA. If there is another one, I really don't know. I will work hard to let the schools know about TPR and TPRS aiming at helping people to learn a new language in a real fun and effective way.

I just read these comments. I didn't know they were there. None of the vocabulary was pretaught. I didn't even know the students. We have improved on TPRS from this video. We now do describe the situation which is a wonderful step forward in fluency. If you have questions you are write at Blaine@tprsbooks.com or Blaineray@aol.com

Great demo. I wonder: To what extent was some of the basic vocabulary in the lesson reviewed in a prior lesson?

Mr. Ray, first of all I must say what a cute group that is. It's amazing how much TPRS can take from the students and at the same time give them, as well. The sense of gratitude from the kids is really rewarding. Onto the teaching part. The only time you really wrote on the chart was when you had to teach a complex structure. In that case, it was the Future Perfect. Is that what many people call pop-up grammar? I'm kind of new to TPRS, but have already fallen in love with this methodology. However, I have a question. I've taught many different methods (about me: I'm a native Brazilian English teacher). I don't see students asking questions, only answering. Is that possible in TPRS, too? I believe it's important that student ask questions so that they can get used to being active speakers. What's your take on that. Finally, I wanna say congratulations on a job so well done. I know it's hard, but I'd love to meet you sometime and talk about teaching. Thank you for the video. Greetings from Brazil.

Brilliant! :D So,"curriculumwise", you were able to introduce and apply, and repeat, with different pronouns, relatively complex structures like direct/indirect speech, all types of interrogative sentences, proper use of several tenses, in addition to the vocabulary (which was rather basic, probably to allow focus on the sentence structures...). I must say, every time I do this type of activities, it feels as if everything is falling into place. I've never used them as my main approach, though. I think I will give it a go. Thank you for sharing!

R A Very entertaining! But how can you check if they are truely understanding? What kind of ordinary assessments / conversations can be given?

in China, I don't see lots of teachers use this method.they use the traditional translation method. I don't know if tprs works on Chinese students, but I am sure the traditional translation method is a terrible method. I want to know what is tprs and how it works. the most important thing is how it works, actually I have been thinking this since I watched such videos about tprs. if someone can explain this , that would be appreciative.

Hello Mr. Blaine! It was very interesting approach! My name is Sergey, I'm from Ukraine. Now I'm learning English just for fun, and my question is how can I use this method by myself? Is it possible at all? My level is intermediate, I can watch TV series with English subs and language bloggers without any subs. Thanks a lot for any reaction.
