Handy tip You don’t have to face towards the terminal/turret to hack them. You only need to stay close enough to it and hold e. Yes, you can shoot, reload, strafe, etc. while hacking. You are NOT a sitting duck.

Oh man sensor shield. I really feel it if im on a new char and cant equip it. Such a good implant on any class, even on HA etc. due to the enemy not expecting you to run around in the motion spotters. Its like a cloak for non-infil classes if you know how to use it right and turns infils into true cloakers.

Little tip: if you're playing around a weapon terminal, try to just quickly press e twice to resupply. Its way faster than clicking the resupply button.

The Sea Lion is the new king of scout rifles imo. And the Starfish with a suppressor is pretty great for stalker cloaking. Definitely under rated right now.

Infiltrator has always been the exception to the 'don't buy weapons' rule. Whether it was previously with unlocking the first bolt action rifle, or now, unlocking an SMG. Or even unlocking a CQC sniper early on. I know that on my alt I created recently, my first substantial purchase was the Ghost.

@@vincentproud6589 for the most part you can't. There are a few weapons available with redeemable codes. You should be able to find a list of those online. There are several weapons available as directive rewards though I don't think this is what you are talking about. The reason why people don't recommend buying weapons is just that it isn't good value for your certs until your classes are mostly certed out.

Amazing guide ty, on the NC flash with the buzzard we have a unique style of gameplay using custom artillery crosshairs on recursion we can sit 300 meters from combat and spam artillery shells for HE spam or close range AV with it and the wardens UBGL or crossbow AV.

With long range you really want to get down intervals where you see dropoff through your scope. Set personal waypoints at 150, 200, 250 etc and get an idea of where you see the bullet strike in your scope so you can adjust before you begin engagements. There's homework that helps you out at longer ranges

At 23:26 when he goes into CQC snipers he mentions picking one and sticking with it this is very true when it comes to long range velocity and bullet drop is something you have to get the feel on especially if you want to be able to get moving targets

Av infi is amazing fun, AMR-66 with UB nades, exp bolt qcx, ammo printer/regen and flak armor, chase tanks down and if you're feeling it, the qcx will 4 shot an esf from full, take those shots, it's amazing getting an esf from afar with it.

Vanu has an infinite ammo pistol and an SMG if unlocked. That makes ammo printer redundant. Of course, the tradeoff is that due to faster overheating [running out of ammo] you can't really do longer engagements.

for me the Revenant is the ultimate scout rifle for lone wolf infils, accurate, strong and with infinite ammo. Also you can cut your dependence on sensor shield if you learn to move around and avoid being detected by motion spotters.

@@CMDRCyrious I have the Dmr-99 on my medic class as a secondary. Medic Class TR Primary: any gun( I have been using the Tomeo to finish the NS export series directive) Secondary: Dmr-99 with 1x scope, compensator, Comfort Grip, Explosive Rounds. The Comfort Grip is huge because it reduces the time it takes to switch weapons. I have Symboite and Shield Recharging field to go with the Dmr-99. I hit myself with explosive rounds to regen my health while having the shield recharging field on me. And The biggest thing that I love about the Dmr-99 is it can deter enemies from pushing foward through door ways or I use it to kill players sitting corners by shooting the ground next to them.

that's funny. In the intro CMDR Cyrious said some people doubting the Infiltrator and its use. I've seen some people complain some time ago (on reddit) on How infiltrators were OP just because they could go invisible and that would make them harder to kill and to find (as if that wasn't the point of becoming invisible in the first place). people never seem to agree on anything these days....

Nice tips, just be careful with the Icebreaker, it's considered a Hatchet type knife, and so it swings more slowly, but deals 600dmg equipped (500 if quick knifing)

Definitely didn't consider the utility of taking advantage of random infantry terminals to really lock down a room. Been running around as a infiltrator for a while and just saw them as free hacking exp. Also did they ever fix the NSO cloak? Been a minute since I played but last time the NSO cloak was painfully visible compared to the empire specific ones.

Are you talking about streaming to KZbin? Streaming is resource intensive in a way recording isn't. Has to do with your encoding settings for streaming.

The big problem with the USA servers is that the ping at a minimum is 250ms Australia. Usually 400ms plus in reasonable fights. Need to factor that out before reporting.

This video probably too old for you to check these comments at all, but I see you love speed & Adrenaline Pump. Stalker loadout with Adrenaline Pump and Catlike 5 is oh so good. I most often run sensor shield with it, and often Vampire, but not anymore bcz of the powerknife nerf :-(

This is probably a really obvious question to most people, but do sniper rifles/small arms in general in this game experience bullet drop? They obviously have travel time and aren't hitscan weapons, but at long ranges do you have to compensate for a drop off as well, or do the bullets just fly 'straight'?

Actually there are a few exceptions to that rule. One is the Vanu's Phaseshift Sniper Rifle. The only sniper in game with no bullet drop.

Yes, weapons do have drop. A lot of the snipers have enough velocity that you don't have to heavily compensate, but it is there.

If you take sensor shield - you have to put silencer on weapon. It doesnt make sense to do other way.

Not really, I use sensor shield on almost all my infantry builds and only use a silencer on my stalker loadout. Sensor shield lets you close in and get the jump on them, with good aim you don’t need to shoot for that long and you can cloak and relocate afterwards.

I did glaze over it, but I made the point that it was based on the old One hit kills knives, actually one hit killing to the body, so I would be changing up the implants as I did more testing. So it was covered briefly, but its been up ended by the recent patch. Will try to get something out on it in the future.

Terminals always force a reload on me if i have fired any bullets, so annoying

Switch to your secondary as long as its still full ammo, then resupply, then you won't get that issue.

sheessshhhh that real cqc bolting was intense! could really feel the danger from the closer, more high risk high reward playstyle!!! In all seriousness, please stop perpetuating the muscle memory stuff, it's false information. Muscle memory exists, but its relevance to aiming is very small. If you want sources I can provide, but if you want to investigate yourself, just go look at how many quake pros use mouse accel. For such a mechanics heavy game, something that "messes with muscle memory" sure is used a lot by top players.... curious

I have heard about some pro- level players using mouse accel - and mostly in arena shooter's. Still don't feel like that is useful for most players though, do you? Feel like this game is made up of more average shooters and the #1 things to help are keeping your frames over 60FPS all times, having consistent mouse acceleration, and not trying to use 100 different weapons at one time so you never get accustomed to any specific ones.

​@@CMDRCyrious Hello Cyrious, thank you for the response. So there are a few things to tackle here. 1. You are correct that mouse accel wouldn't be useful for your average ps2 player. Mouse accel takes a moderate amount of mouse control, as well as a good understanding of aim mechanics to setup properly. It also takes a lot of time to setup as well. However the most important thing about accel is that you don't use it to improve aim, you use it to make it more convenient to aim. The reason I brought up mouse accel in my comment was because of how it relates to current beliefs on muscle memory. Muscle memory is seen as a boogie man in the broader fps community. "You shouldn't touch your sensitivity or else you will disrupt your muscle memory and lose months of progress." At its face, it seems logical to assume muscle memory impacts aim a lot. However as people have optimized developing aim through aim trainers, or implemented and used accel in games like quake, some people began to realize that the opposite is true. Muscle memory has almost no value in one's ability to aim. Things like developing your eye tracking, developing general coordination, and developing the muscles needed to control different ranges of sensitivities impact a person's ability to aim much much more, to the point where muscle memory is irrelevant. The realization that muscle memory is not valuable in developing aim skill changes people's perspectives on many commonly held beliefs in the fps community. One of the first lessons to take from this is that changing sensitivities is not a bad thing. Currently, there are many aim trainer players who use sensitivity randomizers which change sensitivity randomly within a certain range during scenarios. There are also aim trainer players who instead just change their sensitivity often. This is happening because it was found to be a more efficient way to train aim. Now, planetside 2 players are typically not aim trainer players, so they don't need to be changing their sensitivity often, and I wouldn't expect them to. But what would be helpful, is for them to know that changing their sensitivity is not going to do anything other than help them grow as an fps player. There are too many ps2 players that I have helped train who are super worried about losing months of progress working on their aim by changing their sensitivity, when by changing that sensitivity, they will surpass their current aim skill very quickly. Yes there is a period of discomfort, especially if they havent used a sensitivity within that range before, but it will help them in the long run. This notion of always playing on the same sensitivity has become one of the more annoying parts of trying to train people. People will often be so scared to switch off of their sensitivity that they will be stuck playing on a sensitivity that they know is too high, or two low for a long time. The general lesson to be taken from this is that keeping things consistent doesn't actually help a player much. This applies to sensitivity as much as it does to "getting used to a specific weapon." Because muscle memory doesn't impact aim much, sticking with a weapon to get used to it wouldn't be very useful. In fact what we see is that someone will try this, but they will be stuck with stagnated performance on that weapon. This is because where they want their aim skill to be, is higher than where their mechanical skill is actually at. The problem doesn't lie with spending more time with the gun, it lies more with things like their framerate, their sensitivity being too high or too low, or underdeveloped mechanical skill in general. The problem isn't with needing more time on the gun. This makes sense especially for ps2 as there are not precise spray patterns like in csgo or valorant. You memorize the general direction of recoil for your weapon, then fire it while compensating for that one direction. There are not a slew of micromovements needed to land bullets where you want them to go. In conclusion, muscle memory is not important for aiming and I brought up mouse accel to help allude to why it isn't important. The implications of this are that keeping things consistent, whether it be a person's weapon or their sensitivity doesn't actually help a person more than changing their sensitivity or weapon. In fact there is typically more long term gain in changing weapons and sensitivities than keeping things the same. But the biggest problem mostly comes down to just perpetuating the muscle memory belief. I have to spend lots of extra time while training people explaining why it isn't helpful in developing aim, and what is helpful, all because muscle memory is a widely held belief in the fps community. I don't expect your average ps2 player to start using accel, but I would like for them to understand that aim is not developed best by keeping things consistent.

I feel like inf Cloak needs to be like the old one b4 the free NSOs where the shimmer was hard to see or shot guns or anti vehicle capabilities or even bend able to shut down a vehicle temporary or simply smgs don't get a negative stat playing as the stealth class. Just being slightly harder too see and die the fastest doesn't really make since as far as balancing

Too bad the Activated Knife is useless now. I want it back the way it was. It took skill to eliminate a player with the knife. And considering shotguns can one hit K.O anything almost at mid range, I don't see why the activated knife needed that nerf at all. It completely ruined Infiltrator play for me.
