Incredible lesson, Wes! You just staged a great comeback! I don't usually blindly follow a teacher's instructions, as I don't like to be bamboozled in any way. I, though, entertain your recommendations regarding learning not just words but collocations. Yet: even that low-pressure approach could sometimes feel a bit daunting, forcing us to make a scene out of exhaustion one day. Of course, not to jeopardize our own mental health, it's definitely a good idea to be level-headed about what we're learning. And take breaks in between just to reflect on and consume the language to auspiciously articulate ourselves more effectively. I hope that nothing of the said above was preposterous, and no egregious mistake was made on the way. Also I'm not exuding an air of superiority, just trying to get a better sence of the ways the words could be used. If my comment helps you too, that's even better for either side. Expeditiously creating examples is very hard, if I'm being honest. Greetings from Ukraine. Keep up the astonishing work! The novelty of building my vocabulary never wears off. How about you?

By placing "blindly" between the "to" particle and the verb, wouldn't you be splitting an infinitive?
@ArtemHahauz-nm7bk
@ArtemHahauz-nm7bk Ай бұрын
@edwardamosbrandwein3583 Umm. Would you mind clarifying the terminology, please? What did you mean, Bro?
@edwardamosbrandwein3583
@edwardamosbrandwein3583 Ай бұрын
Inserting an adverb between the TO particle and the verb (that is "splitting an infinitive") is generally considered wrong. However, there are cases when the adverb can't be placed elsewhere lest it causes an awkward construction: "His goal, as a teacher, is to fully impart knowledge to his students" (in this case, "fully" can't be placed elsewhere)
@ArtemHahauz-nm7bk
@ArtemHahauz-nm7bk Ай бұрын
@@edwardamosbrandwein3583 Please, simplify the grammarian terminology. I'm not a teacher and nor was I taught that way. Do you just mean, here, that "usually blindly" sounds grammatically incorrect to you. Would you mind clarifying what you meant in your previous messages?

Thanks for the lesson. Your videos are very helpful, and just the way you patiently explain words in detail in a soothing and friendly voice makes the stress of learning new vocabulary vanish into the air. But some of these words are very basic, maybe like B1 level words, and some others are extremely specific and advanced, so I wouldn’t call this an “advanced” lesson.
