I grew up watching these adventures & have been drawn to the red dirt country as far back as memory allows. Malcolm is a shining example of true Aussie traits. Humility mixed with capability & a willingness to share his knowledge. Thanks Malcolm 👍👍👍

The fact that he took the time to share these experiences of remote Australia shows how much of a humanitarian he was.

malcolm Douglas introduced 2 generations of aussie kids to an Australia that was impossible for them to see ... every sunday he would be on "the world around us" and if it was one of his shows the whole family would crowed around with dinner and watch quietly and fully engaged i what he was doing and saying ... he was a adventurer that many tried to copy and really failed and sadly will never be replaced

in the years after this alot of sites where cleared of bones by what was left of the tribes because people started takeing and defacing sites sadly .. even in some of his last docos he shows some of the tagging and some of the tribes men say they have had bones stolen and they even move a set of painted barks its sad but with out daily up keep and a watchful eye a quiet a few of the sites he has shown over the years have now been desecrated

it's not this good anymore but it's still no where close to hard to catch dinner. you can pretty much just take rice and some spices and survive for months. heaps of fresh water around and still a good amount of fish edit: thinking about it more it really does depend on where you go, it's a huge area and plenty of places are still insane but not everywhere
