ERB intentionally used a lot of British English to mess with international audiences. If you ask Bae to go all Australian on us we get similar problems, not the “international” subset of English :)

A tall glass of waterで「背の高いハンサムな人」の意味になるのマジで良く分からんよな

Originally it was just tall and slender because of how tall water glasses were usually made.

@@ArispeMatt Japanese cups and glasses have historically been shorter, so such a cultural difference is interesting. Anyway, thank you for the kind reply!

British English here! Okay, so: Toad in the hole is a batter pudding (known as a Yorkshire pudding, made of eggs, flour, and milk, and baked until it's crispy) with sausages in the middle like the picture. It's great if you sprinkle some extra salt on top after it's cooked. At that size, it feeds between two and four people.

Do drippings go over it like normal Yorkshire pudding?

Also: “The Morning: Gino’s sausage in a hole” is an epic video on why brits call it “toad in a hole” and not “sausage in a hole”. Immature brits dying from laughter at sexual innuendos :)
"trousers" and "pants" can be seen as an example of this for the article of clothing covering our waist to ankles. In the UK we use "trousers" and in America they use "pants", though they are completely different words
If you guys think that's bad, look up "Table (parliamentary procedure)" in Wikipedia. UK = put FORTH a motion US/Robert's Point of Order (college student council) = put AWAY a motion
