What are the two box like structures behind the driver and passenger seats? What's in them?

Hello, I'm seriously considering buying one of these. I'm retired from the Army but I was in aviation. I never delt with these. But I have heard nothing but bad things about them, from engine, electrical and transmission. I'm only familiar with the old M900 series trucks but they are getting very hard to find. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for watching, yes our neighborhood does not seem to care about Brutus, everybody is very interested in him, brings out the kid in everybody, yes I have checked the hubs and filled with synthetic gear oil, i need to check them again just to make sure the level is not changing, I am also really wanting to install AC and high speed gears, we also hope to have that done this year.

Where do you guys live? Does your city allow this to be parked in a residential neighborhood? Is there any problem registering it with the DMV? My husband and I are thinking of getting one, but we live in California and are not sure if there are any restrictions with this type of vehicle.

Flagstaff AZ. We never had anyone say we couldn't park it at our house. No, AZ is easy. If you deal with FMTV Truck Sales out of Bozeman Montana they can help you with the California registering thing.

yes, but not on the camper, new 200 amp alternator kit, new water pump, valve adjust and tons of maintenance going on right now

We bought it from a private individual in South Carolina so, it already had a title. It was not difficult to transfer it for an AZ title. Now that we are getting the interior of the box built out like an RV we will be registering it as an RV here in a few days.
