I always though there were only 3 Adventure Island games for the NES and proud myself to have finished them all, now almost 25 years later I find out there was a 4th.

If I could recreate Adventure Island 4, I would better use the plot of having kidnapped the dinosaurs. It occurs to me that the bosses were "corrupted" and more powerful versions of the dinosaurs, that the final boss is like a combination of the corrupted versions and that we have access to a sixth dinosaur (that is stronger than the others). Because I don't know about you, but I didn't like that the final boss is an eggplant xD

It was difficult than all the 3 adventure Island as it was not a linear game it was like a proper quest RPG

It a Japanese only release. It wasn't released in the U.S. until a few years ago when it was included on the classic NES mini-system.

The 1st 3 bosses are okay but found a big step-up to Mechanical Spider. The Ghost though I thought is impossible! I never seen someone beat him before until now. By the looks of it, the final boss isn't that bad.

Wait, when did Tina get captured? The game starts with the eggplant wizard kidnapping the animals and ignoring her.

He kidnapped the animals as diversion. After rescuing the animals the wizard kidnaps Tina from the house.

Lucas Carvalho - Turma 703 I think Adventure Island 4 was Japanese exclusive while the other Adventure Island were released in the West. Unless you did get this game imported.

The difficulty of this game is totally lame compared to previous entires, if i remember correctly i think the 2nd was the hardest for me back then, that final boss fly was a pain in the ass.

Uhm, after killing 5th boss and rescuing the last dino, the Eggplant thing kidnaps Higgins' gf.

I thought he was eating the dino buddies. I mean they disappear into his mouth and from this playthrough you only ever see the pterodactyl at the end, so I kind of assumed he killed them. That would be like if at the beginning of a Mario game you see Bowser eat Yoshi.

Nope, the Eggplant only kidnaps the dinos when "eating" them. You end up rescuing each one after killing a boss.

This was really more of a "Metroidvania" type game than the first 3 Adventure Island. By rescuing his dino buddies, you gained the abilities to access more areas.
