We’ve had our stove over a year now also and love it. I have cooked numerous meals on it and it hasn’t let us down yet. The only mod I have done is to put a small grid on the bottom for better air flow.

Thanks for the video! I bought mine a few years back but every time I use it, the smoke that billows out of the chimney is too much to enjoy sitting around it. Wondering if you have had the same issue? The wood I'm using is all dry.
@SilhouetteParkFarm2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have that issue. All I can say is try making sure you have good draw (air flow) and may be change the type of wood your burning, if it’s dry and still smoking then it might have a high resin level in it. Just a thought but I don’t know.

thanks again, a good point is it is light, when travelling, weight is a big consideration! and yes, at the price, if you get three/four years, of it, so what!! cheers.

I've got one of these but I have real trouble bringing it up to a high enough temperature to keep water boiling in a 2L pot even with the stove full of wood and hot coals, after a few hours. It does well heating water for tea and coffee (not boiling). Iron cookware definitely works the best on it as it keeps the heat. I have made skillet bread on it and have had great success with anything that requires low and slow cooking. I honestly would go with a larger, better quality stove the next time as we need a bit more fire.

Hi mate i was curious to know from day one how many times have you lit it up? How many hours total usage of the item? Thank you mate👍

Hi. Ive an earlier model, flue is in the middle top at back of the top plate, I for the life of me cannot get a good fire going in it, it seems to have no draft, using seasoned hardwood, any suggestions very much appreciated
@SilhouetteParkFarm2 жыл бұрын
Try putting a small rack in the bottom so the air can get under the fire, flu baffle open and have the door open a little till it gets going.

fire/heat control comes from changing the vent or exhaust size, due to the negative pressure that the exhaust creates. not by controlling the inlet opening and leaving the exhaust wide open. the negative pressure still draws the same amount of air through the intake.

Do you take any stoves with you when you go camping? If so, which do you choose?
@MohamedBassyouni-r8f3 жыл бұрын
The big one, nice and handy. Hahahaha

Depends on the trip I’m doing. A choice of my collection or a combination. Twig stove, jet boil, on of my TRANGIA, kettle oven, Wooshka, kings stove of my smoker. Sometimes I just take a grill plate for the fire. I’m a little obsessed with camping cooking gear lol 😂
