The ULTIMATE Honda Snorkel Guide..

When entering the world of ATV's I was clueless. I started out with a Can-Am Outlander XT but quickly realised it was not the machine for me. Although the XMR 's are great for water, they just don't have the same reliable reputation that Honda is known for.
So after dumping the Ham and picking up this like new condition Honda Rubicon, all that was left was to snorkel it. As a noob in the four wheeler world I was nervous to tackle the job myself, but the more videos I watched, the more I knew that I could not only do it, but make the best how-to snorkel video in the process.

I wish your video was around when I did my 2016 a few years ago it would have saved me alot of time. One thing I did different over everyone else was I had a short and tall snorkel that I could change by screwing them on and off

If you ever do anything like that again put dawn dish detergent on your fingers to smooth that adhesive out. Nothing will stick to your fingers then. I build bridges for a living and it comes in handy bro.

Agree 100% on not siliconing the airbox lid. I siliconed my airbox lid on and then wanted to check my air filter months later but could not get the lid off. After trying and giving up about three times I finally was able to pry it off.

Just to save someone some aggravation, if you get this kit get yourself a 1 1/2 inch coupling to come out of the air box with instead of packing silicone around the provided pipe that doesn’t fit. The coupling fits in the stock boot perfectly.

What year Rancher IRS does that breather box come from? Do you have part numbers for the items that you used on the breather box?

Doesn’t that help catch water ??? Isn’t there a way to just add them to the stock parts ?? I always thought that the oem intake manifold helps catch water or keeps it from completely getting to the engine to a point .. obviously you can always get water in them but I always figured they would guarantee you no water to a certain point I always thought that was like one of their sales pitches .??? Am I wrong ..

I was thinking. Why not do a air box relocate. Like the radiator. Find a box. Maybe a large ammo box. Make a mount for the air filter. Run a hose down threw fender and along motor. The empty void that was the air box loop the intake hose twice before fitting it to engine. And then run a snorkel from new air box location on front wrack. Would be a lot less to worry about sealing wise and with enough time spent into it can make it look less jacked up.

the crankcase breather mod has to be higher than the airbox or else it won't work.

Might wanna use a old sock cover it oil the sock to catch any small leafs or and keep dust out of main fliter or put one of them small dirt bike fliters dust will kill your motor and get caked in your pipe as well

If you think that will last more than one water ride you are mistaken😂. This is how electrical problems are prevented, dielectric grease is non conductive.
