Great instructional video. Better than I have seen prior. Could you provide information on the mounting plate bracket and who makes them? I like the fact that the winch is mounted on top instead of upside down like other brands.

The warn 2500lb winch I just Installed on my son's '22 Honda recon 250 has jenky wire lengths. We made it work but the color coded wires were all backwards. Just an FYI.

You most likely ordered a generic winch kit and mount not the actual Honda accessory made for the machine

@@MaxsMotoShop much easier install on the bigger machine by the looks. The mounting plate we used from MOOSE industries got mounted to the diagonal frame member near the steering column. Had to pre mount the winch. Not fun

Hey man, I have a question. On the sub harness, you mentioned one of those extras pair of wires are for heated grips. Can you use those wires to install the Warn Hub bluetooth controller? Thanks

The extra wires are positive and negative. You can use them for whatever accessories you would like.

Was planning on winch and attach plate sourced from amazon (warn or superwinch brand) Can i ask if felt it was worth paying the way higher price for the honda dealer supplied kit with the extras? Lastly, if you were buying a plow again any suggestions now that you have installed one? 100% happy with brand and model? Cheers

I’ve been installing these for years you go at this brand because it is quality they can still have problems, but usually seem to last the life of the machine. The Honda plow and mount are very sturdy and well built will not bend, but there are a few decent aftermarket brands as well.

I don’t think there will be room in the frame the 2500 pound is tight as it is and is also more than enough to pull this little machine around

Edit: Here's the kit: 08L70-HR6-MF0 winch 08L71-HL5-E61 subassembly for the winch: 08Z01-HR3-A20 substitute subassembly for above if you dont have the 12v socket socket 08Z00-HR3-A20 check you manual or fitment site to make sure

Wondering the same thing. I am in the middle of this install, and was wondering where the bar clamp was. For $400, I think I will come up with something else. For the cost, all of this stull should be included with the winch.

I'm about to put one on my rancher and thought you might know if what seems upside down to me like this winch is put on is this the only way they fit? Every honda video on here I've found puts them on that way. Seems upside down one because of the emblem and two because I don't want to run my wires down the exhaust side and wanted to know if this is the only way.

It only takes 5 to 10 minutes to pull the front bumper off and remove the winch from the machine. If you need to change the cable it’s usually fine though keep it clean and untangled while you’re winding it in.

The relay mount came with my winch kit this is a Honda original accessory kit not an aftermarket

I bought the WARN 101020 VRX 25-S Powersports Winch with Handlebar Mounted Switch and Synthetic Rope: 3/16" Diameter x 50' Length, 1.25 Ton (2,500 lb) Capacity It came with no relay bracket. Pretty disappointed about that.

That solenoid bracket did not come with my warn winch mount kit and all terrain the company I ordered from told me there was no such thing

This is not just the warn kit. It is a Honda original accessory kit. Sounds like you have a generic warm kit. If you go to the Honda ATV website under accessories, you can view this kit.
