The first song the man was singing at La Caleta is a flamenco style called "Alegrías de Cádiz". About the castles: San Sebastían Castle has a lighthouse (faro) and there was a hermit and a hospital for "peste" disease and quarantine for sailors. The Santa Catalina Castle was a prison in times of Franco. Parque Genovés has got incredible kinds of trees like the metrosidero. It comes from New Zealand. José Celestino Mutis was a famous botanic borned in Cádiz and gave the park lot of curious plants and trees. Down the Parque Genovés you can see one of the most beautiful views of Cádiz the "Alameda de Apodaca" overlooking the Cádiz Bay with nice towns like Rota, Puerto de Santa María and Puerto Real. Thanks from my little city Cádiz and next time try "cazón en adobo" (fried fish) at freiduría Las Flores in plaza las flores

Excellent skills of filming, great video, makes us feel as we were traveling with you..👍 Really special vibes in Cadiz, didn t know that here was the most ancient inhabited place in Europe...massive history there. Loved the caves and watefalls and the music this man performed. I wish I could visit one day Cadiz...probably extremely high temperatures. The food is excellent...for sure.. Thank you for this really beautiful video reflecting the authentic atmosphere of COSTA DE LA LUZ 👏👏👏👏🎩 Best wishes from Paris 🖐😃

Lagarto: in old Spanish (and in Latin, for that matter), lagarto (lat. lacerta) is the old name of the arm muscle, the biceps. That's why it still is the name of a part of the ham.

Thanks for giving us a tour of beautiful Cadiz. I love your adventure spirit in jumping to the ocean. Is Cadiz's economy tourism based? How are they surviving now when there are hardly any tourists?
@AdventureElliot3 жыл бұрын
Good question.. Cadiz is a bit tourist heavy based but they have a huge port which drives the economy as well.. I think they are better off than other areas in Andalucía. I also asked a lot of people.. you’ll see more of Cadiz coming in the next 2-3 videos. Thanks for watching!

They survive mainly through crime
@rafaelcuevas32092 жыл бұрын
@@xtrfyzr Ha...ha...ha. You are funny. Cadiz main activity are servicies (tourism, health, administration, shopping...), shipyards, aeronautics, petrochemistry, fishing, imports and exports (its harbour is EU border), armament... On the other hand, people got subsidies from the government during the pandemic. Therefore, the economy of the country was protected by the national government and EU (subsidies from EU arriving this year and 2023).

Gracias amigo for another great video. You may want to check it out if you can get into San Sebastián castle next time you visit. The rocks nearby there look almost volcanic, but I don’t think there were volcanoes there? You can never find a geologist when you want one. Well done
@AdventureElliot3 жыл бұрын
They look like that because they are usually submerged in the water! Who knows, I'm not a geologist. Speaking of volcanoes, I'll be going to Spain's highest peak this weekend which happens to be a volcano.. Stay tuned :D
