Eughh, there are some awful people in this world.

Everywhere in Europe. These villages were never really viable even back in the day. These days it doesnt make any financial sense to farm..unless you have huge acreages etc. Great for retirees..artists..hermits etc

Low birth rate in Europe is one of the important factors for deserted villages. In India even in the remotest village ( With few exceptions ) you won't find such situations. Agreed lesser job opportunities in the village but people are busy in cultivation. Minimum 300-500 people will be there in every village.
