The ginger fisherman is certainly got the skills but he regularly prioritises views over fish care and that is unacceptable. There have been many of his type over the years within predator fishing and it never ends well.

I saw that . I thought, ' there's George, I know him' which of course I don't...but been watching n commentating long enough now to feel that I almost do. Fantastic , hard fighting trout George. Wouldn't mind having a crack at them on the fly 😁
@fingersTitanАй бұрын
@@Edge-of-Reason I think Mr Ginger is the best preditor angler we have. He is also good enough to be on TV with his presentation skills.. BUT. I have pulled him up on his non preditor fish that he bullies way to much. He caught 3 carp a few months ago. All landed in a net that was way to small. All had bloody mouths because he used barbs, One ended up with a cut tail because of it being bent in the net to much and having to much energy for pulling it in way way way to quickly and not letting any of the carp to run themselves out of puff. He is superb but he really needs to get with a few carp people and learn how to treat them. He always talks about resting fish and so on. He is superb every where else. Carl should take him out non preditor fishing and show him proper care.
@fingersTitanАй бұрын
@@callumnoblett4905 I know what you mean. I first saw George in the preditor comp (LMB comp?) a while back that Mr Ginger won. I've been watching George ever since, subbed a little while back and glad I did.

I don't think so, wild trout don't live that long. Stocked fish are usually triploid too so can't breed. The small stream has plenty of smaller trout in so they will have come from there, just grown on to get very big in the pond. There must be plenty of food in there for them. Thanks for watching!

Hi George, hooked something big in the river this morning on one of your northern light lures but it snapped the 4lb leader clean off!! Way to go mate - got to be one of your best days. Those are real lunkers and fun to catch and see. Was nice to see you fish the stream too, bet that was a nice surprise. Noticed that it looked like you are using a barbed hook. Try not using them especially for catch and release. Lot easier on the fish and quicker to get the hook out. You may have a few more get off but that just adds to the thrill of the fight. Keep em coming loved it.

Beautiful trout and super video, well done! I really do think that as you seem to be a devotee of lures and spinners, that you give fly fishing a try. That mill pond would suit that sort of fishing as there's generally space for the back cast and it's a really interesting way to present the bait (but not in a force nine gale). In my opinion, more fun than a short baitcasting wand. My boy, you do need to get a larger net with a longer handle, and remember... fish to net, not net to fish! All the best and I hope you get access to more hidden treasures.

A really fabulous millpond, full of really big trout and medium sized perch. You're very fortunate to have access to such places. Didn't like that rod though, I think that it needed more backbone so that it didn't bend so much, you didn't have much control over those fish. If you hooked something really big it would have been nearly impossible to land it. Good luck.
